I want to say "as soon as enough people realize that trump is a open and active threat to national security", but he was before he was elected, and it changed nothing.

Vive la revolution, I guess.

Since Congress is so jam packed with boot lickers and ass kissers, they are abdicating their responsibility in holding him accountable. As such, what is left?
. . . . do they not understand that if there is no action or accountability there will be people who decide to make it their own responsibility? Not advocating for anything, just warning that Luigi was a precursor.

That's what I mean. We've seen this playbook before. This is textbook. Albeit history, which so many didn't bother to read. This is step by step how Hitler seized power.
I do not expect people to just sit back. Not here in America, the land of guns and violence. Again, not advocating for anything, not supporting anything that could be construed as a threat to the president or his staff. All I'm saying is that I see the chance of violence rising on a daily and I wonder if Trump or any of his people have actually thought about it/realized just how much danger they're in

Dude, take the purity tests and cram them. You really think there is any way at this point, where we are now, that any democrat has half a snowball's chance in hell without the money that comes from billionaires?

I need you to return to reality. jive like this is a reason why so many voted that asshat back into office. Because the candidates just weren't "Pure" enough. We are not there. We cannot be that ******* picky.

Yeah, we vote now to stabilize the country. Once that is done we start the process of trying to get it moving in a more equitable direction.

Break the law as a Dem: get convicted and sentenced. Break the law as a Republican: get elected president.
And of course he's trying to follow Eric Adams's example.

Do you have any idea how badly the Democrats have alienated their once-reliable bases in attempts to chase down the "moderate Republican" voters who don't ******* exist and wouldn't ******* vote Democrat if they did?

They're not gonna win back any voters still stating openly they're for sale to whatever billionaire might want to back them. it's bad enough they spent 2024 fundraising off the "DANGERS" of the Republican Party & now are content to rubber-stamp fascist nominees in the guise of "reaching across the aisle."

telling folks to vote AGAINST evil since "We're not QUITE AS BAD as the other Party" isn't sustainable and it sure isn't a ******* purity test.

Democrats need to offer people something tangible to vote FOR if they actually want to start winning things.

Paladin, The Dems just flipped a state senate seat in Iowa in a special election in a district Trump won by over 10 points. I don't think it will be the last time that happens over the next couple of years. Trump is toxic to the Republicans in the legislature and in down-ballot races. He was during his first term and likely will be even MORE toxic to them this term given his current antics. Heck the citizens of states bordering Canada generally have favorable views of their northern neighbors not to mention have strong economic ties to them so all this talk about punishing Canada with tariffs and the like will sour border districts views on Trump and those he endorses.

The Democrats now have a new DNC chair. Ken Martin from Minnesota has the job now. I don't know a lot about him, but he did seem to be able to steer the DFL(the Minnesota branch of the Democratic Party) into a trifecta back in 2020.

Oh, I am very well aware that the Democrats sold out the left wing seeking some nonexistent moderate republican.
That does not mean that they should say 'hug it' and eschew any offer of help from the billionaires that want to send them money. That is entirely a frikken purity test. Looking at the world we live in, not the one we want, you have to have the money to get the message out. To combat the ******* machine the GOP has and the money they have. You're not going to get anywhere sitting on your high moral principles when no one hears your voice. We are drowning in GOP rhetoric. They have control of just about every damn outlet there is. We cannot at this time turn away any help.

Some of them are starting to step up, even in small ways: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/co...d-trumps-state-department-nominees-rcna190470

WASHINGTON — Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, said Monday he’s placing a “blanket hold” on President Donald Trump’s nominees for the State Department, tamping down his hopes of quickly installing personnel in key positions.

Schatz, who is on the Foreign Relations Committee, said his move is in protest of Trump’s billionaire adviser Elon Musk’s declaring that he and Trump will shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development

“Dismantling USAID is illegal and makes us less safe. USAID was created by federal law and is funded by Congress. Donald Trump and Elon Musk can’t just wish it away with a stroke of a pen — they need to pass a law,” Schatz said in a statement.

“Until and unless this brazenly authoritarian action is reversed and USAID is functional again, I will be placing a blanket hold on all of the Trump administration’s State Department nominees,” he continued. “This is self-inflicted chaos of epic proportions that will have dangerous consequences all around the world.”
