What is Grimace, anyway?
Bates also unofficially revealed that Grimace, one of the McDonald's happy meal characters, is in fact, a taste-bud.
"He is an enormous taste bud, but a taste bud nonetheless," Bates said.
The purpose of Grimace is to show the food tastes good.

McDonald's stock fell this morning.
That they named the taste bud "Grimace" and think it's a good sign is kinda telling.
See the real question is how does this jive with Grimace's origins as the Evil Grimace?
I grimace when I jive after McDonald's too.
To be fair, there isn't a right number of arms for a taste bud.
In most cases, the right number of arms for a taste bud would be zero, but I don't judge.
For reasons I won't go into right now, we've found more human skulls on the grounds than we'd prefer.
