Here's a recent interview with British TV and Radio celebrity, Johnathan Ross, showing his collection of many toys at his office (not the ones at his home), including many Diaclone, Microman and some Transformers too:

He's famous for his own talk show and his love of Japan and Japanese toys. He's the British, nerd equivalent to the American, car-collecting talk-show host, Jay Leno. Johnathan Ross has also featured as a voice in "Shrek 2", I believe.

The celebrity voices varied by region in Shrek 2 FWIW, the US ones are different to the UK ones (as were most other major countries). That was the joke.

But yeah, cool videos, I knew Ross was a big toy collector but I never knew he was into Microman specifically, and that's probably the most significant collection of them in Europe tbh.

I've seen him mention his Microman collection at least once before. I think it was on either a Big Fat Quiz or a Cats does Countdown, partially because I'm fairly sure it was during a back-and-forth with Jimmy Carr, but I wouldn't swear to it.

I've only seen the American version myself. I saw a clip where they changed the "interviewer" character from Joan Rivers to some other British celebrity, but that missed the mark for me as the character model itself is based on Joan Rivers herself.

While checking, I found out that the British version also replaced at least one "violent" act from the American version, due to it possibly being "too violent" for the equivalent British TV/cinema classification:

It reminds me of the "nunchukus" scene in the "Teenage Mutant Hero* Turtles" film in the UK, where such weapons are illegal, so the whole scene was heavily edited/removed.

(*And yes, the "Ninja" was replaced with "Hero" for similar reasons, even in the cartoon's intro songs).
