Robots in Disguise voice actors Michael Lindsay and Robert Axelrod pass away
We have some sad news to report. Two voice actors, involved with the 2001 Transformers series, Robots in Disguise, have passed away in recent weeks.
Michael Lindsay, who voiced the characters Rollbar and Skid-Z, passed away on August 31st at the age of 56. Aside from his Transformers roles, Lindsay was known for playing Joe Kido in the dub of Digimon Adventure, Kisuke Urahara in Bleach, Kankurou in Naruto, as well as many other additional voices. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Robert Axelrod played Movor in the 2001 anime series, and is better known as the voices of Lord Zedd in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Wizardmon and Armadillomon in Digimon Adventure and its sequel series. Axelrod passed away on September 8th, after a long battle with illness as a result of complications from surgery. He was 70 years old.
Fellow Robots in Disguise and Digimon voice actor Neil Kaplan has paid tribute to his late colleagues on Twitter.
Today is a bittersweet. 18 years ago today, “Transformers: Robots in Disguise” premiered on FOX Kids. Over the past few weeks, my RiD family, Digi-family, & Power Rangers families have lost two of our favorite sons, Michael Lindsay & last night, Robert Axelrod. They were good men
