Hasbro Earns 100% Score as LGBTQ-Equality Workplace

Hasbro was listed alongside 608 others like Target, Barnes and Noble, and Starbucks as 100%-scored “Best Places to Work” in the Human Rights Campaign’s 2018 Corporate Equality Index for LGBTQ workers. HRC is the largest advocacy organization for civil rights lobbying in the US, so the recognition is a notable one.

In the release, Chairman and CEO Brian Goldner comments on why this recognition is significant to Hasbro.

We are committed to promoting a culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging in which everyone knows they are valued, respected and empowered to bring their best ideas forward, and take great pride in this recognition as one of the most LGBTQ-friendly companies in America.

The Index requires companies to ensure equal treatment to same-sex spouses of employees as opposite-sex ones, not exclude benefits for transgender individuals, include LGBTQ considerations in diversity programs, and so on. Since in the United States, many of these protections are not enshrined in law and are often embattled, assurance of equal treatment can be a prime consideration for job searchers, and listings like this one keep it in public knowledge which companies can be trusted to meet that standard.
