Escalating anti-LGBT+ hate and the terrorism it inspires

The UK government are going to “Section 28”* trans people. And cut down on a lot of eduction about sex and relationship issues. Unfortunately not surprising, seeing how rabidly transphobic even Britain’s supposedly ‘liberal’ media is. * no, not the United Federation of Planets’ secret police...

Wouldn’t surprise me. Most likely however she’ll say something adjacent to that, and sue anyone who points out the obvious.

Ulp. Isn’t paywalled here. Might be a geolocation thing. Will avoid linking to the Independent in future. (To be fair, the aactual daily newspaper itself closed years ago, so perhaps I should avoid the website.)

Probably more than a bit of Trumpian “the rules don’t apply to me” thinking on his part. I voted LibDem in the PCC election. Thought it the best shot at unseating the Tory incumbent, and to me Labour is still as toxic as the Tories.

    Ranting about quebec: newspark edition!

That’s a whole can of worms in itself! The EU sees itself formed in 1951 (European Steel and Coal Federation) or 1958 (when the Treaty of Rome formed the European Community), depending on who you ask. The EU as it is now is considered more a rebranding and reorganisation, IIRC. (Yes, I’ve gone...

Quebec separatists obviously suffer from a variant strain of the Brexit mind virus.

    Transformers Legacy toyline

Yeah, it was the US comic, but we got the US stories reprinted (with a delay). The story was published March 1986 in the Marvel US comic, and July/August 1986 here in the UK comic. I definitely noticed the similarity with Galvatron at the time, as the action figure was creeping into retail here...

I like that Starscream deco. We need more Starscreams in “Champion Edition” alt colour schemes, really. My favourite is Takara’s release of the G1 toy in Machine Wars Starscream’s colours, released sometime at the turn of the century.

UK politics thread – it just keeps on getting worse

Depressingly, it probably shows what non-white British people have to do (or feel that they have to do) in order to be accepted as senior politicians in this country. A policy that a decade ago would merely be the brain-fart of the BNP, UKIP or any other fringe far-right party.
