Question for anyone else who has gotten Icons Optimus. I'm looking for a second opinion. It looks to me that his head is entirely painted. It looks to have the same sparkly blue as the sides of his torso, which looks different than the flat, plain plastic blue of his hands and feet. I really don't have a very good eye for such things though, so I was hoping to see if someone else could confirm or refute that.
I'm mostly pretty happy with this guy. The red of the emblem, along with the blue on his head, looks really nice in person. Transformation's easy to remember with no major issues. The one flaw that's kinda bugging me is that mine has a splotch of silver paint between the top of his faceplate and his head crest. It's centered and symmetrical enough that it's not a real big issue, but I'd kinda like to try to remove it. But if his head is painted, I wouldn't want to damage that trying to fix a relatively minor issue.

Okay, finally opened mine. The head is light gray plastic entirely painted over. You can tell by shining a flashlight into the stress slot at the back of the head, the blue fades to light gray.
Oh, and don't worry about chrome flaking. The "red chrome" is actually clear red paint over either chrome or a good silver paint. May still be easy to scratch, but it shouldn't just flake after a while.

Yeah, I can see that now, looking at the back of his head. I took another look at mine, and realized the issue isn't quite what I thought it was. I'd assumed some of the silver paint from his mouthplate got onto his forehead. Ends up that's not the case. After looking at some pictures online, I realized he has a tiny pointy piece that's supposed to stick out right above and between his eyes. On mine, something must have caught that piece and bent it straight up. The white I was seeing wasn't paint, but was the stress mark from that plastic bending. I was able to bend it back down into place, but it feels like it'll break off at any time if something else catches it.
