I’m surprised Mirage made the cut given his status as a retailer exclusive (here in the US, at least), and I don’t mind this direction they took. Despite looking like a jet G1 Mirage, the personality gave me something closer to RotB Mirage (especially with his powers). This little series is giving me G1 vibes where the scripts aren’t terribly in depth, the strong visual direction and strong voice acting elevates some fairly pedestrian concepts and story beats.
I do appreciate some really novel use of Mirage’s powers, and it’s clear that the writers know a general “toy plan” and were given enough time to “play” with the character concepts when writing these instead of writing a complete shell of a series and “slotting in” different toys.

Plus, LANDSHARK.

This setting is a nice change of pace. I wouldn't mind staying here a while.

It's so weird. The videogame theme does nothing for me. I don't connect with it. But I am enjoying this silly show. It works in its own weird way.

It was weird to see a Mirage so visually based on G1 Mirage and so character-based on Rise of the Beasts movie Mirage.

It's fine. It just took a little adjustment to line up with a Mirage that acts so out of character with the Mirage in my brain.

-ZacWilliam, show has been good but the episodes are airing too far apart and that's making it hard for me to get into it or excited by the story.
