Just like the headline says, Takara Tomy has dropped a new video on the T-Spark YouTube channel, showing off the second in the Adamas Machina Transformers line: AM-T02, aka Predaking!
In case you're not able to watch this pretty short (just over four minutes) video right now, here are some of the pertinent details.
Remember how cool Predaking -- and, well, everyone else, but I digress -- looked in the Transformers Generation 1 season 3 (2010, if you go the Japanese route) episode, "Call of the Primitives"? Well, it looks like the concept design for that is what director Akira Amiya from Trigger drew inspiration from when designing this bad boy of the jungle, who stands about 300mm, or 11.81 inches tall.
Yes, he does break down into his core components, the Predacons. In fact, it seems the design was based on Predaking first, and the rest were extrapolated from that. He's got posability for days, all the way down to his fingers and even his toes! And there are paint apps aplenty -- the "largest number of paint jobs in the Transformers gang market," according to the auto-generated YouTube subtitles.
Two swords are included: The Sonic Blade and the Photon Sabel (er, I think they might mean "saber"), which is rendered in 3D for the first time. These can be wielded in his hands, or attached at hard points along his waist and back. And of course, there's also the "X-Ray Laser Canon" ("cannon," I'm sure), which is formed from combining two other cannons. Those can also be similarly attached at various points along his body.
If I'm reading this right, he'll be released in March 2026 and run you 59,400 yen, while our affiliates over at Big Bad Toy Store are accepting pre-orders for a May 2026 shipping date for $449.99. If you decide to go that route, please click this link to help us out!
So, what do you think? Whether you can't wait to buy 'King, or maybe you think $90 per die-cast Predacon is too much, feel free to chat all about it below, or over in the "Takara announces T-Spark: a transforming IDW Rodimus and more" thread in our forums (which is where I found out about this from member Platypus Prime).
