On the eve of SDCC, it has been announced that Amazon/MGM has put in a series order of 8 episodes for a new Robocop TV series to air on Amazon Prime. It's being produced by Blumhouse Atomic Monster with Peter Ocko (Lodge 49) attached as showrunner. Executive producers include James Wan, Ed Neumeier (writer on the first film and several follow up projects) and Ocko, who will also be writing on the series.

*The film uses an uppercase “c” for “cop,” while the new series uses a lowercase “c.”
Blasphemy.

Anyway, I'm intrigued. But I'd like to know if this is a reboot? Continuation?

Do we get the silver RoboCop or the black RoboCop?

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

I mean, the moniker "reactivated" would suggest a continuation...

Kinda interested in seeing what they come up with. Hell, it'd be hilarious if they pick up the series seconds after the end credits for robocop 3, he just sucks a bird into the intake, crashes hard, gets salvaged and tossed into a back room and forgotten for a decade or two before someone rebuilds him.
