I remember them! If it had just been a bit later, Shapeways, or nowadays, some 3rd party, would probably have made the missing barrel.
It would have converted into the exhaust pipe, and cost $20 plus shipping.
Unless it was from DNA. Then it'd also include a pile of gap fillers, fully articulated hands, and platform shoes, and cost $60.
DNA has a mixed record for me. I loved their sword blade and guns for Star Saber, never used the wing extenders and new face, and didn't order their Omega Prime kit because it didn't come with the ONE part that desperately needed fixing, and, through everyone doing their own fix, was the single most likely part to be out of spec for their replacement set.
And of course, they never fixed the BIG issue...

Transrepro out of Canada did make the barrel, complete with a roll pin, if I remember correctly. It was resin cast, off of the Japanese version, if I understood the source.
EDIT: thought I sold Windcharger, but apparently not, so here's some pics of the upgrade!

My complete haul from BotCon this past weekend.
A special mention to this black bin I picked up while Sabrblade and I were doing room sales Thursday night.
A room had a complete Universe (1.0) Sam's Club Omega Prime (but not the complete Optimus) that caught Sabrblade's eye. The seller pointed to it and the black bin at the top of a stack. He said he wanted the Prime, bin, and it's contents GONE and wanted $150. Sabr flew, I drove. I paid and we carried it back to my room.
Friday Sabrblade, Echowarrior, and myself started piecing together what all was in there. Saturday we continued but we're regularly interrupted by visitors for my own room sale who insisted on focusing on the NOT FOR SALE contents of the black bin (MAJOR THANKS to Sabrblade for traffic control and back up! It got really crowded despite no chairs to tables in my room), but the three of us managed to confirm, for $150 I got:
A complete Sam's Club Universe (1.0) RiD Ultra Magnus
A near-complete Energon Unicron, missing his right chest flap and 3 small missles
A Binaltech Yellow Tracks, missing his gun and has a broken hinge on the driver-side door
Alternators Rodimus, missing his driver-side door panel and two guns
A seemingly complete RotF Leader Class Shadow Command Megatron, with the rear treads/heels broke off but present
Generations Warpath (H tank) missing the missile
Two cabs from the Sam's Club Universe (1.0) RiD Optimus Prime and missing the super robot head from the torso and the ladder, the two super robot feet, and one of the gauntlets
RiD01 Optimus Prime missing the ladder/super robot torso, and by extension- the missiles
Classics Cliffjumper missing his jet pack/ski and in need of a clean
Classics Optimus missing both guns/truck parts, heavy paint scratches on one door/arm guard, and in need of a cleaning
Leader Class DotM Sentinel Prime, missing his shield and sword
G2 Windrazor and Windbreaker missing their guns
Beast Machines Thrust (deluxe) missing a finger and half the engine cover
A random robotech figure (non mech)
Two halves of another Alternators Rodimus is far worse shape than the first one (and missing the driver side door panel)
The back half of normal RiD Ultra Magnus
Two on card small Cyberverse figures of Optimus and Megatron
The pipes/twin-barreled blaster from Universe (2.0) Heavy Load (Cybertron Quickmix recolor)
Planet ring/robot wings for Armada Unicron
And other small brick a brac we couldn't place, both because people kept digging and picking and we just had no idea.
And that's all I remember, and there is still stuff. Not much though.

Yes - Transrepro parts were a thing - I think that company was one of the first replacement/upgrade companies. I wanted to buy one of those at the time, but couldn't afford it.
Something happened to the guy running the show, though. I don't remember if he just got sick/hurt or if there was an accident w/ his equipment.
I believe Ken had a stroke. Someone named Ian helped him get orders filled, but I think they closed the business shortly after that. I honestly lost track due to my own life stuff going on, and when I got back to collecting again, they were gone.
I dunno. Onslaught looks shiny enough that his cannon reflects off his roof.
Are you implying that Onslaught doesn't want to get himself dirty?
