The dropshipper I got the last copy from took a little longer to ship this time, but it finally got here. Went ahead and gave the rear wheels some more tape lining to improve the fit, and added the new front tires to Beachcomber. These tires with the bigger tread are also suitably rugged for these buggies. Although I would've been fine with the originals if they weren't ticking time bombs.
Now I need to see where I stored that parakeet. Which is also a sentence I never thought I'd say.
Next I'm looking into Legacy G1 Op/AOTP G1 Magnus. Currently experimenting with a pair of 50945 tires but the source is a bit pricey by comparison (and each of those will need six tires).

Always love it when someone remembers the Predacon symbol was originally yellow rather than purple.
I love that Scamper mold. I tracked down this Scorponok version and it continues to occupy a spot of prominence on my shelf.

Forgot. I went half on the set with a friend at Botcon 2006, so it's the only KP toy missing from this (questionable) collection.

Sigh, I do so want that janky little Autorooper. And the cassette pack; the SDCC pack is something of a cool consolation. I never see that 3-pack, just the Sparkbots one (which I bought, one of those times).
I'd initially planned to wait a bit before getting the 50945 tires because the AOTP 4-pack Magnus was fine. But then I fished out the Legacy G1 Op from storage and saw this. They hadn't eaten into the rims (although the other tires had a spot or two a bit stuck on the blue parts they touched), but their neighbors now have little blemishes. Even Beachcomber (who I think I had well before this) hadn't gotten his tires this bad.
Luckily the pair of 50945s I'd gotten to test worked out great, they are a bit thinner than these and entirely untextured but a solid fit on the rims. Guess I'll have to put in for... Five more pairs then.
Meanwhile, of course, for all we know this is the most lateral of moves. Maybe it'll be simpler to just put each of this handful of bots in bags.

Mine ate into the blue of his leg. I just removed the tires and painted the rims black as a stopgap. Looks almoat okay on the shelf.
