Ok, I guess there wasn't a fuss about it when that ep came out.

Watched s2 ep2.

They mashed up three eps with the Blind Bandit, Zuko Alone and The Chase.

The Boulder live action should have been the Hippo.

Weeeeird that Suki was around for the Mai Ty Lee beat down. (btw, I roll my eyes at all the Sokka concerned about Suki thing, ugh)

It's been pretty good, I'd say. How did the fandom take it, when it came out?

Same thing happened in the cartoon "The Serpent's Pass" episode. Dude still has PTSD from losing Yue.

Yeah, but I feel like they're dragging it for too long cuz this is live action Sokka's arc. Cuz he's not that funny.

Saw s2 ep3. They're moving faster and that's ok. Toph getting marriage proposals is new. Hate that they went with negative reinforcement to have Aang earth bend over the cartoons positive reinforcement.

Jet, Longshot, Smellerbee are pretty ok. Jet has a lot of live up to.

I forgot about a Sai (from s1?) but the guy Sokka talked to in the party is the toon researcher who dies in the Library? Aw man, he seems younger here. Granted the toon version wasn't an old man but he wasn't as young as this guy, I think. But I guess he won't die in live action.

In other words, it's a more realistic depiction of PTSD, as opposed to the cartoon's dealing with it in only one episode, as if PTSD isn't something that people take a long time to go through.

Well, we already saw Jet last season, attempting to assassinate King Bumi.

Dang, I totally forgot about that! Ugh, I'm forgetting details.

Saw s2 ep4 Water Falls, Stones Emerge

This is actually good stuff. I hope the fans in general liked S2 cuz they really worked on combining, altering, making new stuff and it works for me.

I love the Blue Spirit meeting the Painted Lady. Since the silly Chibi shipping short happened, I thought before how it would be awesome if the two undercover heroes would go together. Aaaand this ep had a bit of that, haha

Toph had extra family drama that's good. Sokka montage of visiting the kidnapped Sai was good. Mixing the Haiku showdown with them doing it was excellent, dang. Great job!

Wouldn't be a surprise to the toon watchers but I sorta loved the reveal of the new lady that Long Feng was actually bad. The actor really was friendly and nice to me. The toon was voiced by Lex Luthor Mr Krabs so you wouldn’t buy that he was anything but nasty. Good on the actor!

Iroh's part with the protesters wanting the names of the people who died in the war was new but well done. The thief thing was ok.

I forget the headlines but was s2 where the avatar creators Michael dimartino and Bryan knetskisomething left? Or was that something else?

Well, that's why the people making these kinds of shows wish for the viewers to rewatch the shows over and over again every once in awhile now and then, so that they don't forget these kinds of details. ;)

(Same with many other shows that bring back older plot points much later on, like The Dragon Prince)

They left before Season 1 even got off the ground (because they wanted to change the story so dramatically in ways that fans would have hated, such as by making Uncle Iroh an actually evil man who would first manipulate and then betray Zuko before becoming the main villain himself). Season 2 didn't go into production until well after Season 1 was already made and released.

Wait, I'm confused. Is 'they' Michael and Bryan?!? They wanted to make Iroh evil?!?! Gaaaaasp!

Saw s2 ep5 Ten Thousand Things

I should have realized from the title that they were going to the Library. But, OMAvatar, they made Zei bad?!?! I thought he was spared from being killed in the library. Then he gets a worse death by being eaten alive!??!? Whhhhhyyyy? I liked the cartoon version professor, darn it.

Jet being involved is different. He did a Captain America holding on to a helicopter. Honestly, no way Aang would have left him, really. But his body disappeared so he's dead, dang. No ambiguity about it.

While is was weird that whoever stole Appa didn't see the sleeping bodies of the notorious Avatar and Co just over the wall thingy, Toph stopping the haunted place from falling was still great.

Is Joo Dee dead? Burned by Azula? Dang.

Kiyoshi talking to Toph was cool-ish? Same with Yang Chen to Aang. I feel like it should only be an Aang thing but Toph is given a lot of new stuff around in live action. Sokka thinking Yue might be around is actually cool. If her spirit was around in the astronomy device, it wooould have been slightly cooler.

Blue Spirit having the Avatar bodies at his mercy was cool too.

Great ep. Hope they stick the landing. I wanna see maximum drama when Aang gets blue lightning killed.

Kiyoshi hating the Bei Fongs was funny, haha

Saw the last two episodes.

Kinda blurred in my head now but I recall there was too much drama in the 6th ep. Did they really have to do the whole misunderstanding break up thing? But it's cool that it led into the team splitting up in the s2 finale.

Aw man, Toph's mom is bad? That sucks.

I really like the Painted Lady and Blue Spirit being ambushed together. Would have been so cool if there was more than one time where they encountered each other doing good deeds at night. Like superhero crossovers, hehe

No bear? I actually didn't care for the bear in the too but, huh, no bear. Gardener king is cool tho.

One of the best parts in the toon was Azula's speech to Long Fengname about some people working their way up while others are born into it. It works here too. I like the small bit where Feng suddenly isn't paying attention and sound is muted cuz he knew he made a huge mistake and is paying for it.

Glad they didn't dwell on Appa being lost. They cut the middleman out. I really didn't care about the Appa's Lost Days ep.

Don't like Azula being caught by Katara and Zuko saving her with fire whips. No way Azula would be caught.

Same with Aang's Avatar state with Azula being helpless. Just, no way. Oh, I actually thought for a second tho that it would be Zuko who'd shoot Aang in the back. That would be a wild twist. But its still Azula. But in the front.

Hope they incorporate the Kuruk (water bender) spirit walk that's in-between s2 and s3, when Aang recovered from the attack.

S2 is really pretty cool. Is S3 being made? I really want to see Combustion Man.

Man, sometimes I really want to watch the live-action ATLAB but the more I read about it the more I don't.

You should give it a chance. They're some interesting changes and you can take is as an divergent reality from the toon.

I was pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised at the whole Library guy thing, haha

Three eps of Safe Havens have been out. I didn't watch any trailers so the first ep blew my mind.

The second ep had a terrifying concept for me. It's so unexpectedly alien to the world of Avatar for me, it's mind boggling.

The third ep was... just ok. But a super cool beginning.

Side thing but is Tala a term that's different in the Middle East? In Filipino, it means either to record (verb) or a star (noun).

Tala is also that evil sorceress in Justicr League Unlimited, if folks still remember her. Killed by Luthor to power the device to bring back Brainiac (ooops) but survived in the JLU comic.

Haters gonna hate, my friend. The Netflix series may not be as good as the cartoon (and, let's face it, it was never gonna be), but it is nowhere near the levels of horrendousness as the M. Night Shyamalan movie. It's just a different take on the cartoon's story told in a less cartoony, more condensed way, adding some new details and characters of its own along the way.

If you wanted a word-for-word and scene-for-scene live action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender what would be the point of doing it? Show me a different take or change somethings from the original and even if they did word-for-word and scene-for-scene live action version fans would be still complain.

Yue death
Evil Iroh!
Ozai dies early?

Weeeeeeird! By Michael and Bryan for real life? While I do like the 'never do the same thing again', an evil Iroh reveal would be a huge twist, yiiiiikes. Ozai death probably by him sounds workable, yeah.

Yue original sacrifice was cool but I was never into the Sokka Yue love cuz it happened too fast.

Thanks for the info. Crazy!

Saw Seven Havens ep 4 to 6. No spoiler comments.

Jae is totally untrustworthy. What a git!

Ep5 has a bunch of Easter eggs but I probably missed the references.

I love ep6! Or at least the potential of it. I want more horror ish eps!

When can we do a spoiler discussion?
