I believe GSO was wondering about the real-word motivation for making it, not the in-universe justification.
The fiction answer will be fun and weird. But yeah, I’m a little nonplussed by the random head Arcee with no -master body to go with it.
Maybe get a double-duty set, of a Daniel-based Headmaster color coded to also work with the transtector-less head. Done right they could have it cross-promote/sell the other set and have a backup Powered Buggy driver. Point of annoyance, they never once made another Star Saber compatible brainmaster figure. I've never lost or had a problem with mine but I wish they'd made an extra one just in case. I worry about misplacing a figure the size of a fingernail.

Nah. I mean, Dark Amber is another Lio, while Bluebolt is the new guy.

Isn't the inclusion for the purpose of having a driver for red Beachcomber to complete the set's Diaclone reference? It didn't have to be prototype colors Arcee but I guess they just wanted the driver to be more than a generic.

Speaking of Bluebolt, we actually finally got an answer from Sakamoto on what Bluebolt's gender actually is. And the answer Sakamoto gave was: "Bluebolt's gender is "unknown"!"
But then, back at this year's BotCon, in the text story written on the side of this year's Yolopark 2-pack box, Jesse Wittenrich made the deliberate decision of using female pronouns for Bluebolt (but which he did on his own without any awareness of Sakamoto having given his own answer beforehand).
So, it's another case kinda like both Beast Wars Airazor and Cybertron Override: Female in English but not so in Japanese.
