As a former YuGiOh/Magic player I'm actually incredibly impressed by the quality of the TCG cards having picked up the Pinkie starter at launch this week. Every card, even the commons, are treated like hits, with texturing, patterns/foiling and new artwork instead of just using screenshots. The 'land' cards and higher rarities are some of the most gorgeous cards I've seen in a TCG.

I really hope these take off cause these are fantastic.

I was into the collectable cards back when Enterplay produced them, but I stopped when they suddenly canceled production of the series 5 set some years ago.

Those Kayou cards you have are very nice.

Hold on, you just reminded me. We've got another MLP trading card thread I've been meaning to get back to for the past year or so. Got so busy with other things, I nearly forgot about it.

Oh I didn't notice since it was from last year and a page back. We could use this one for just the TCG since that just came out if it is okay, or I could just drop all this into the other thread if we need to keep them consolidated.

I hope these do well. Kayou has been absolutely printing money in China, apparently. Hasbro talks about it every quarter.

I really hope they make that possible. I don't think it's feasible with what's out/announced yet, unfortunately.

Found the packs and decks at Target and grabbed the Applejack deck and a couple of packs for my fiance. We pulled the other Fluttershy I was wanting to tech into my Pinkie deck and a Fluttershy Ruby Rare Main Character card. Pretty sweet.

Already, got 1 play test in. Lost. I made some serious misplays because I was trying to understand the flow and mechanics and I basically ran out of creatures.

But I find it shockingly strategic. You really have to math and think around your opponent on the fly.
