The post-DOTM movie designs are ugly and I’m already sick of the Bee Movie designs given the truly ridiculous amount of toys of them being made. They also weren’t all that good TBH. I’m pretty sure they only got a great reception because they look like G1.

People cried "pile of scrap" for 15 years and then act like Studio Series Concept Art Megatron's face is even close to okay.

If they want to do G1's "person spraypainted silver" faces, it's okay. It'd be equally okay to do the Bayverse's "not even trying to be human" approach. The halfway approach just doesn't work for me.

TF One's are a pretty good benchmark IMO if they could fix the weird noses.

To be fair, everything about the BB movie and ROTB is a halfway approach, so at least they're consistent about it.

Bumblebee is at least a competent movie. It's a basic "kid befriends a big creature" story, but since it's focused on a smaller cast, they actually get to be characters. Charlie was the first human in the series to actually feel like a person. It's not some masterpiece of cinema, but it's at least watchable.

It’s a pretty good movie. Unfortunately all it’s remembered for is a glorified cutscene. All it needed are loading screens.

I didn't care for it. It was a needed contrast from the Bay films, but without that backdrop, meh.

Rise of the Beasts was such a bad follow up to bee movie and a bad film in general. It reeks of the same bullshit Hasbro tried to pull when they said the High Moon games were the prequel to Prime except worse since it’s the same company behind both films. Couldn’t even be bothered to explain the Maximals. From your future and your past? more like from the writer’s ass.

The toys weren’t even good and had convoluted releases.

I never learned what was in Studio Series and what was in the mainline. I tried, but ROTB was just too messy to keep track.

Weren’t there like entirely new molds of the RotB characters in the Buzzworthy line too?

There was a Scorponok toy that was part of the Beast Weaponizers gimmick thing that was only released as part of Buzzworthy.

Also if you were in the US and Canada, the Buzzworthy three-packs were the only way to get the ROTB Deluxes.

I bought this thing. Ragequit MPM since Ironhide but this guy’s transformation and both modes looked too good to pass up. He reaches all expectations. Freaking huge too.



Have a bit of a soft spot for DOTM Megs. The Voyager toy was my first full-body custom paintjob.

It's a shame that the surface detailing is absolutely hideous since that transformation's really, really clever.

I bought a couple cheap ID lanyards to use on Megatron's chain. Out of the box, it's just a roughly 1-foot length of tiny chain. I guess they expect you to knot it or something? Anyway, the tiny clasps make it much simpler to attach them. I do notice that the metal chain is chipping the weathering but TBH, that just adds to the look.

I do like DOTM, but it's wild how they came up with such a mean looking truck mode for Megatron and then couldn't come up with a single thing to do with it. There is more footage of Bigfoot than there is of that prop truck.

It was like five seconds in Africa and a couple seconds in Chicago IIRC? Then they decided to do the same thing but worse for Rise of the Beasts and even made the robot even more of a goober than Megatron. Movie Megatron. The dude who spent most of the first movie asleep, the second movie getting bullied and the third sitting down.
