like i ain't talking about people who just like them for nostalgia or because 'they're fun turn your brains off and watch' movies but people who genuinely think they're good films

IMO they're just big budget Hollywood action schlock after the first one. Nowhere near good but not the absolute cinematic war crimes some of the fandom make them out to be.
Once you get past the spectacle, they're mostly just kinda boring. I've also come to really dislike the visual aesthetic of the Transformers themselves, they're overcomplicated and it makes it hard to follow the action at times, and the later movies making them more humanoid just makes them bland. A lot of the "humor" in the movies also ranges from just falling flat to outright offensive.
Overall I don't hate them as much as some people do, but I don't really see much reason to ever watch them again either. And I still haven't actually watched The Last Knight or Rise of the Beasts.

They're dumb, but the only one I found painful to watch was AOE. I'm still curious about possibly rewatching TLK at some point to see what it's like if I can stay conscious this time, but not curious enough to actually do it.
I'd honestly take Last Knight's batshit nonsense over Rise of the Mid. It’ll at least keep me conscious trying to figure out why any of that jive is happening.
every time i see any clips and jive from them it's always just some visually confusing CGI mess that i just cannot understand how people can stomach.
I don't get motion sickness, so that helps.
