It's official people, Netflix has announced the core cast for their live action Gundam film adaption, which is now starting production.

Netflix took to X to confirm the cast including Sydney Sweeney, Noah Centineo, Jason Isaacs, Jackson White, Shioli Kutsuna, Nonso Anozie, Michael Mando, Javon Walton, Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Ida Brooke, and Gemma Chua-Tran.

Saw the second Hathaway movie this weekend.... And I kinda wished I had saved my time. It wasn't horrible but when you got multiple scenes where it's so dark you can barely make out characters on the screen, and it feels like a fifth of the movie is watching a woman rearranging her suite apartment she ditches by the end of the movie. I mean theres a lot more going on then that, but it really dragged down the whole film for me.

Reportedly, filming has wrapped for the live action Gundam film. No firm release date is set.

Saw the new Gundam series trailer…and I’m on board. It’s nice to see a series take a bit more “traditional” route, not retread/expand Universal Century, not “Gundam but with X twist”, something that looks more “classically” Gundam. I’m also a professed fan of X so this After Apocalypse age is an interesting scenario. And it’s rumored or implied that this might also tie into the new Gundam Armored Core-esque game recently revealed.
Wait, Kenji Kamiyama is directing this?

I guess Rogue Orbit game is a sequel to this anime? Interesting Bandai has committed so much to Kamiyama’s ideas.

Also, something that popped up in the YouTube “media reveal” of this franchise iteration, was the note that Bandai is reportedly working on a new line of action figures, about 4.5”. I suspect they’ll be equivalent to the smaller/cheaper figures Bandai produces as a counter point to the larger Gundam Universe collector range.

Nothing against the old Ocean Dub crew, but…why? They were serviceable, but I never felt the original Seed dubs were THAT great. And after redoing the originals with new dubs, I fail to see a pressing reason to bring them back aside from…nostalgia? I guess?
