We'll start with a trailer for the first game
I played this, this last year and it quickly become deeply ingrained in my psyche. It's more than just a 'Pokemon clone' or anything derivative like that. It really cuts it's own identity and personality. I've tried a good amount of monster catching games. From Pokemon to Monster Hunter stories and almost anything in between.
This one is the one that has actually supplanted Pokemon in the top spot for me. I still adore Pokemon, and am looking forward to Winds and Waves - but my most anticipated game of 2027 currently is the Cassette Beasts sequel, Cassette Beasts 2002.
Speaking of, there was a showcase this morning that has me very excited for March.
It just looks like it's giving me everything I want. More new characters/companions, more great music with guest singers like Crush 40's Johnny Gioeli. A new setting with new beasts and all the previous game's beasts, new mysteries to unravel. Extremely solid looking multiplayer, voice acting.
I'm just SO excited. If you haven't played the original I highly, highly recommend it. It goes on sale quite frequently across most platforms, and the sequel is out March 2027.
