Wow...apologies for thread necromancy, but I didn't know where else it went, it's not REALLY a crossover, but these are weird. Hopefully a better source will emerge:

Transformers Surprise Countdown Calendar Contents Revealed

After getting our first look this morning, we now have in hand images of the new Botbots! Included are Optimus Prime Bumblebee Grimlock Elita-1 Autobot Megatron Soundwave Starscream Constructicon Decepticon (could be Rumble/Frenzy)

One one hand, "Somehow, Botbots Returned." On the other, "Somehow GUN MEGATRON Returned." And if it's a real multipack with all the same things in it, that helps people like me who suck at blindpack stuff.

I do think they blew it on one level...they HAVE food molds and one that was a turd. Rumble should have been bread, Frenzy could be poo...

I like them but I wish they would have gone more cartoony with Bumblebee ....but I'll probably still get it. This is available now on Amazon I believe for $33.

I do question why Bumblebee goes from a box with a bee on it to a box with a picture of Bumblebee shot in the head on it. I blame Megatron, he's the only gun there...

2) As with some of the later original Botbots the deco/face-tampo designs here were definitely done by a different artist than the one who designed the original molds and in a very different style that clashes hard with the cartoony mold design.

-ZacWilliam, still it's GREAT to see the Botbot molds in use again. I had assumed the prizes in the calendar were going to be non-transforming junk. This is much better.

I can't find it on Amazon either. I'm not sure what some of the alt modes are, and the paint jobs to make them G1 isn't helping. Is Starscream a jetpack of some sort? And I have no idea what Grimlock is at all.

Oh, Hasbro, you shouldn't have.

And by that I mean you shouldn't have chucked Botbots into the Geewun vortex and stripped away 90% of what makes them fun and refreshing, right down to the incongruous art (although it COULD be worse; they could've used the Muggs or Swapticons art style). This meeting could have been a clutch of Tiny Turbo Changers, if all it was going to be anyway was "let's forcibly reskin these as G1".

This is exactly what every lump with zero imagination said of Botbots at the time. Yeah yeah, cute new designs, but how can we cram all of this into the exact same box we've always known? For someone who embraced everything Not That about Botbots, it's like trying to revisit your favorite childhood restaurant with a play place and finding out it's now an office building for a company that makes pipe cleaners.

I'll buy these because I am that glad to see these molds in use again, AND so many of them in one go, but way to miss the point of one of your best things ever.

I'll stop dampening the mood now, I just thought I'd be happier.

I think Starscream is indeed a jetpack, and Grimlock is a coffee machine (main torso is the pot, tail is the plug).

Thankfully a bunch of them have molded in faces so don't come off too bad. Bumblebee and Starscream being the only two absolute abominations. Elita is right on the edge but I think just squeezed under the wire. The rest could blend pretty good into Botbots despite maybe not being quite as cartoony.

ZacWilliam, I wish the show had done well enough that we had a chance of someday getting new toys of any off its main cast alla Rescue Bots characters in Generations.
