On April Fool's Day, multiple tech YouTubers had the same unfunny idea of a "joke" which was to make disturbingly believable videos about Microsoft rolling out dystopian levels of age verification implemented in the stupidest possible way.
I just saw a video that was posted today (April 11) that was making the same claims apparently believing them, with the majority of the comments accepting it unquestioningly and only one or two saying it have fallen for a "joke"; but when I tried to search for the term used ("IdentityVerify"), the only article saying it was real was (despite itself being from April 4) citing FlyTech's April Fool's Video as its source
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is complete bullshit and there are now hundreds of people panicking/raging about it because someone's attempt at a joke wasn't obvious enough.
(I especially hate "believable April Fool's Day hoaxes" in YouTube shorts this time of year, because it's not even easy to look for what day those were posted on!)
