  1. Star Trek General Discussion

I think that is the biggest sticking point I have with Picard. There was no good reason to make him a synthetic. It was surprising, but ultimately meaningless. It just became a plot tumor that the show itself ignores most of the time. Aside from the whole “bad guys stealing his body” thing.
  2. Traitor Watch - The 45 & 47 Thread

Aw, they were just about to show some closeups of the rod.
  3. Star Trek General Discussion

I feel like you know all you need to know to safely skip season 2 if you had to. There are some Easter eggs and references, and a bit of canon welding (arc welding?) but nothing substantial. Honestly the sooner you can start season 3 the better.
  4. Star Trek General Discussion

It’s been a while since I saw ST IV but I thought of it recently, specifically the transparent aluminum scene. Did Scotty give him the formula and then they manufactured it right then and there for him? Or did Scotty give him the formula as payment for their standard materials? As a kid I...
  5. Masterpiece Theater: the MP thread

….. yeah, me too. Assuming he’s not prohibitively expensive.
  6. Don't Stop, Carry On - Gundam thread

I posted this in another thread but i thought it was relevant. Not sure if it’s been shared before.
  7. The "What made you happy today" thread!

Not to keep making it about Gundam models, but this made me smile.
  8. Star Trek General Discussion

That’s one way of looking at it.
  9. The "What made you happy today" thread!

I’m totally guessing here. It may have been that Gundam’s target demographic wasn’t kids who play with toys, but older teens/young adults who built scale models. I’m guessing that the Gundam toys came later once they had enough brand recognition. Personally, I have never been able to get into...
  10. The "What made you happy today" thread!

Nice score. I got the Strike a few years ago. It’s a satisfying build. EDIT: one thing to watch out for is the sword. It’s one big piece of chromed plastic and mine came bent out of the box, due to the way it was packed.
  11. Star Trek General Discussion

It was definitely a troubled production. They wanted the Khan/Kirk dynamic with Picard and Shinzon, but it felt way too forced and unearned. (Wouldn’t be the last time that they tried copying TWOK). Picard has had to face the decisions of his youth before, but Nemesis just kinda brushed past any...
  12. Star Trek General Discussion

Watch one then the other. I’d recommend Picard, since it follows up on plot threads from Nemesis. Nemesis came out in 2002, well after DS9 ended and just after Voyager ended, so Janeway was just a nod to the fans. Worf was noted to still be a diplomat as per the end of DS9, but happens to tag...
  13. I'm Making a Mega Man Thread. My fate is sealed. I have... no choice.

It’s almost like a cruel joke. Although season two has already been announced so here’s hoping they make another Mega Man episode.
  14. Superman (Legacy)- Summer 2025

Anyways…. I like what I’ve seen so far. My hope is that it does all it sets out to do to kick off the new DCCU(?) and manages to have some fun along the way.

Some guys have all the luck….

I think it’s mostly due to RNG. Your progress doesn’t affect your chances as much as the game makes you think it does. I think I’ve heard the same thing as you, where you technically don’t need to defeat any mavericks just keep exiting and resetting until you get it.
  17. I'm Making a Mega Man Thread. My fate is sealed. I have... no choice.

It’s mostly all downhill from here.
  18. I'm Making a Mega Man Thread. My fate is sealed. I have... no choice.

I didn’t see any deep spoilers but to sum it up, the series is pretty mediocre with the Mega Man segment being one of the few bright spots. I’ll still check it out, but now it just seems like a teaser for a mega man show that will never be.
  19. Star Trek General Discussion

Well they had to give the B-Team something to do on earth. Now that you mention it, they didn’t spend too much time hand wringing about interfering with the past. It’s was more “we have to ensure the warp flight happens no matter what”. Everything else was secondary.
  20. I'm Making a Mega Man Thread. My fate is sealed. I have... no choice.

I’m getting the feeling that this will be a “slice of life” in the (early) life of Rock and not a glimpse into the wider world. I do like what they’ve shown so far, and I hope we see more robot masters. Basically, I want this to be good. Is that too much to ask?
