Probably worth posting here. Destin over at IGN posted a compelling response to some of the "backlash" Baldur's Gate 3 has received from some development circles. Since we don't have a dedicated BG3 thread (and I haven't had time to start something as big as that yet), I figured here was a...
That's the one for "the casuals". The real fans go full bore with the trailer and toy accuracy. ( :p )
I'm wondering/hoping, given the lead time, if we aren't getting a remake of the US box, or at least an English version of the Japanese remix of the box. Especially given they can't ship it...
Not sure where to put this, but since I’m comparing it to other RotB toys…
One of “those toy reviewers” got their hands on Studio Series Optimus Primal, images have been ganked from the video. In addition to shots of the figure itself, there are comparisons of other Voyager releases and with...
Preorders for toy styled Quicksilver, Steelhart, MonStar and Buzzsaw are up. Along with the vac metal styling, both the Silverhawks lose a number of accessories. MonStar gets a new alternate head and deco, but fewer overall accessories. Same with Buzzsaw (new deco, new alt head, but overall...
Earlier in the week, we also lost film director William Friedkin. He left an indelible mark on cinema as the director of quintessential buddy cop film, The French Connection, and the iconic horror film, The Exorcist. He was 87...
The disrupted release slate won't just affect consumers. The theatre industry, still reeling from the pandemic, could be dealt another crippling blow if the strike goes long enough to create an every slimmer release slate...
I disagree. In 1998, Hasbro paid a mere $5 million for all of the consumer Atari assets and IP. Even though Atari, the gaming company, was largely irrelevant by the mid-90s, the names and IP still retained value. Especially as 80s/retro nostalgia started to kick in around the turn of the...
From what I’ve half assed researched, Hasbro Interactive was largely successful. The division posted a loss in 1999, but that could well have been attributed to over-aggressive expansion and investment done in 1998. What ultimately killed Hasbro Interactive was the dot-com burst.
Hasbro’s (and...
I mean, I can see several factors you COULD point to. Among them the…questionable…quality of prior films barring the name. Maybe audience were getting a little “fantasy fatigued” given the amount of fantasy series released in the fall of 22 (House of the Dragon, Rings of Power, Willow, Wheel...
It actively blows my mind that for all their fuss about making a AAA game development studio within Wizards of the Coast, they missed out on buying SquareEnix’s western assets for a measly $300 million. Hell, gaining the experience and resources of Crystal Dynamics ALONE would have been worth...
Y’know…
If Hasbro designed a two part “Minicon combiner”, you could still get the two heads as helmet type accessories and maybe even incorporate a flip down faction panel. Then you could eliminate the “split sigil” on the front of the bike. Or slap a Mercenary or Unicron sigil on there.
Yeah, sounds like Hasbro is just offloading the TV and film production assets and the media assets that don’t align with Hasbro franchise focus (while popular, Yellowjackets and The Rookie are hardly the kinds of properties that fit Hasbro’s IP catalog). But they are keeping Peppa Pig and PAW...
The posted blog post:

So, I guess Renegade Games not only announced a Transformers themed version of RoBo Rally, but a new GI Joe board game using Axis and Allies as a foundation. Called GI Joe: Battle for the Arctic Circle...
I was simple, I just got my order in for Bombshell (them Insecticons sell out fast online) and Detritus. I'm a touch surprised Hasbro didn't up and use the Mercenary symbol for him instead of the weird dual symbol thing they got going on.
Like I said back when it came out: I think Rise of the Beasts did an excellent job balancing those audience expectations while not indulging to baser elements the “Bay films” frequently gravitated towards. And I think the improved US box office is reflective of that.
Speaking of Box...
My snarky side immediately went to seeing the humor in, for the 40th Anniversary, making a literal G1 toy with knees.
I could see this as a nice compromise in a number of areas. Hasbro’s tooling base for reissues is diminishing (and we’re already seeing a LOT of redo on that front), while the...
Meant to post on this a while back, but still relevant: If you plan on moving to California or Florida and don’t have property insurance? You’re probably screwed.
