    P&R Funnies!

Soldiers already have to learn how to fully disassemble and reassemble their equipment, so it'd just be another day at the office for them.

Nobody has the intention to invade Ukraine

Also, it's not a good idea to get into a shooting war with anyone, in general. The US military hasn't been a force for good in the world since before my parents were born; I don't see them turning it around on a dime. That said, the more it's looking like Ukraine has a chance to grind Russia...

What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

I can translate: "We got so jealous of Kids Today who never had to live through the Cold War that we're deliberately starting it up again. Have fun!"

Nobody has the intention to invade Ukraine

Turns out being a nuclear superpower doesn't count for squat when you're stuck relying on conventional weapons. Personally I'd be on board with keeping the sanctions against Russia indefinitely even if they surrender, just on principle. You don't get to do something like this without long-term...

They'd probably just replace him with someone even worse. If there are people even higher up on the ladder than he is, he's probably doing what he's doing because it's exactly what they want.

Nobody has the intention to invade Ukraine

No I did not. I thought the whole area for miles around the facility was a "No humans anywhere near here or they're going to die" zone.

But... but the unions though. Are they not demanding better pay? Do they not even want better pay???

Nobody has the intention to invade Ukraine

OK, so my earlier joking aside, what is even the point of "capturing" a giant lump of radioactive rock? Are... are they gonna try to blow it up or something?

    Police behaving badly

You mean there was a time when it was actually possible to cut finding to police departments?

I never played any of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. Is this how we get giant mutant Russian soldiers?

    Traitor Watch - The 45 & 47 Thread

Trump isn't even a real billionaire. He pissed away his money ages ago, and with it, whatever goodwill he might have had with the Rich People's Club that keeps rich people immune from consequences. Not to mention he should have a reputation for stiffing everyone he offers to pay for things, so...

I think the customary thing to say here is "shots fired" but I feel like that would be easily misinterpreted in this situation.

    Toy yellow removal

This comes up a lot in the retro-computing world—naturally—and a few years ago someone hit on the idea of just putting the stuff out in the sun with no chemicals at all. It works, though it takes longer than the peroxide method. Here's the needlessly-long and needlessly-meandering video that...

    Florida, Florida, Florida

"Switched" isn't quite the word, as I'd never voted in a primary before that. The only primary where I might conceivably have been invested enough in the outcome was 2004, and I think that was a few months before I was actually registered to vote.

I wonder how things work in states with true open primaries. Ohio is considered a hybrid because, during the primaries, you have to specifically say which ballot you want to fill out—Democrat, Republican, or neither for just the issues (referendums) that are up for vote that year. And then they...

The blockchain is going to destroy everything

Stealing stuff is what they do. It's becoming increasingly clear to me that these dudes are the hacker equivalent of Sovereign Citizens, not so much in the sense of genuinely believing that governments and their laws are all invalid, but in the sense that they no longer apply to those clever...

The blockchain is going to destroy everything

Here's a wild thing that just happened: Someone tried to put together a thing that makes NFTs of Magic: The Gathering cards, apparently with the intention of giving people a way to play it online but still have the artificial scarcity associated with physical card packs. Thing is, they did this...
