Thread of Thoughts, Questions (and Maybe Even Answers) That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

Random thought of the day: Looking at Horri-Bull's pointy teeth and Tantrum's place in the Predacons, it's clear some poor Hasbro designer in the '80s had an unfortunate fear of having their steak turn the dinner tables on them.

Tron: Ares crosses over in October

So the rumored Tron figures out have turned out to be the next HasLab project. It's a set of five 3.75" figures (Flynn, Tron, Yori, Sark, and a generic program), two light cycles, and a light-up display base. I don't really like 3.75" figures (I prefer 6"), but these look nicely detailed...

Oh, I'm well aware. I've been harping on that since we first saw a comparison pic of SS86 Optimus. It's the half-assing it by having some SS86 toys in the new SS86 scale while keeping others in the previous WfC/Legacy/AotP scale that really ticks me off.

I couldn't help but chuckle at that. It got me wondering though. Setting aside stuff that explicitly relies on repeated deaths and resurrections as a premise, are there any other characters out there who are quite so... prolific at dying?

Horrorcons? Yeah, there are a couple of those amongst the Masters of the Universe.

Agreed. I think half that height, whether it be added to the shins or the feet, would be about perfect. And I think doing a shorter leg extension would be pretty tricky, so adding them onto the feet would probably be the way to go. It wouldn't get all the other points to line up as perfectly as...

Completely agreed. I only had it because of Fangry, who I would have much rather been able to buy on his own. I'd been hoping to be able to get a Bumper head for it for quite a while. This isn't how I expected to get it, but I'll take it! It's technically not quite the same shade of yellow, but...

So I finally got the DNA kit in for SS86 Galvatron. I still hate the idea on principle, but it largely does what I was hoping it would. Before: After: It's kinda weird. I always largely liked the proportions of Galvatron without any modifications, and I like the proportions on Megatron...

    Castlevania

I haven't bought too many games from them, but from what I recall, ordering has been as easy as it generally is from anywhere else. I don't remember having any difficulties there. The main thing with LRG is it's basically made-to-order. They'll have a window of I think maybe a month or so in...

Some more reveals have been posted: The wave seems to include the following, though haven't seen pics for all of them yet: Galvatron (chase version) Jetfire (Shattered Glass chase version) Sideswipe Sunstreaker Cyclonus Reflector Shattered Glass Soundwave Brilliant Optimus Prime Jetfire...

I don't have them out where I can confirm at the moment, but IIRC it's a keyed peg, where the peg has a rectangular protrusion on one side, and the hole on the other piece has a matching slot. I.e. it's a peg/hole connection where they only fit together in one orientation, and you can't rotate...

So we're getting initial reveals for Defender wave 5. Galvatron, Jetfire (masked and unmasked), Sidewsipe, and Sunstreaker.

Walmart "Transformers Retro" line (G1-based redecos/retools)

I expect we'll see a cartoon redeco for Wheelie eventually. He's one of the TFTM-original characters, and there's a substantial difference in deco. This certainly seems like a case of getting the less-popular deco out first to try to maximize sales. That, along with the fact that I'm satisfied...

Transformers: Wild King -- new "Wildocking" animal limb combiner series from TakaraTomy

I'm still disappointed that the subtitle effort appears to have died out. I was really appreciating being able to watch and understand them.

    Transformers Hall of Fame 2025

I think I voted for Megatronus, '86 Megatron, and the Target 4-pack. I honestly can't remember for sure though. As much as I've been really liking a lot of the stuff we're getting, it kinda caught me by surprise how nothing for this year has really stood out as being clearly a best-of-the-year...

Walmart "Transformers Retro" line (G1-based redecos/retools)

Outback looks good. I'll definitely be getting him. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing listings indicating Tailgate will be coming too. Have we heard anything about a potential Swerve yet? I'm happy sticking with SS86 Wheelie, though. I might give it another look if they do a more cartoon-based...

Just got to open mine up this morning. I have to admit, I'm finding the blank visor to be more unappealing in person than I was expecting. I always liked his G1 toy fine and I generally like the visor look on Transformers, but the blank, black visor just makes him look like he belongs in the...
