    We all Warframe Together

Gave it a couple days after the recent big update to smooth out any really rough patches. I'm still nowhere near the new stuff (have to do so many main story quests), but I knocked out the new tutorial quest - it genuinely would have been useful when I was new, gives a scrap of story to m'dude...

    The Repaint Concept Thread

Yeah, Lugnut was another bafflingly-unused mold. No Animated deco, no Atomic repaint, zippo.

    Lego and other brick toys

Treated myself to the Creator Haunted House today. Quick thoughts just on the house build - the ghost ship and train are pretty well done for alternatives made from a building, and I choose to read the train as a Monster Fighters 2010 homage, but the house is what I bought the set for. It's not...

Now eventually you are going to have a Comic Book thread on this Comic Book forum, right?

I don't usually do a lot with comics, but I have a few faves. Most recently, I finally got an order in at my local shop - picked up Tron: Download, ahead of (sigh) Ares. It's just a compilation TPB of the original movie adaptation issues along with Betrayal, but the originals are quite out of print.

    P&R Funnies!

A joke I can attribute to some random streamer's chat that I was watching: "Is climate change such a political issue because we've anthropomorphised the Earth as a woman? Would [REDACTED] care more if it were Papa Earth's dick falling off?"

A small thoughts thread: what are you playing and how is it going?

My FLGS got in the new Final Girl module, Bad Times at Buddyland - the nigh-obligatory Five Nights riff. Sat down with it over the last couple of days, and finally pulled out a win with one of the two protagonists after four or five runs. As a module it's back to what I consider the sweet spot...

Who's trying to break the internet today?

Yup. Arizona's age-verification law kicks in Friday. There was a soundbite about Pornhub banning AZ IPs on the news, and I do find it funny that for half of it they just had a shot of someone writing "VPN" on a whiteboard.

Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

I do, oh how I do. And I did say it's irrational, after all! It's bizarre to me what kinds of things this happens with, too. I get hit with the condescending BS for (at varying stores) anything from razor blades to a garage worklight to a Lego set, all under the $30 dollar mark - but I can pick...

Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

Mundane thing that just pisses me off to an irrational degree: stores that have a loss-prevention approach of "if we have to unlock it for you, we also carry it up front for you, make you do the perp walk like you're both six years old and also already a thief, and you don't even get to touch...

A small thoughts thread: what are you playing and how is it going?

After playing it a couple times at my weekly meetups, I picked up a copy of Apiary and its expansion. It's a midweight worker-placement base builder, which I'm usually kind of iffy on 'cause so many of them just become multiplayer solitaire. Apiary has a couple mechanics to encourage player...

Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

A ponderance: we've probably all said "not my circus, not my monkeys" at some point. And unfortunately sometimes it is both your circus and your monkeys. If that situation were only half true, which would be worse? - It is your circus, still not your monkeys - Not your circus, but it is your...

Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

Surprising things from the retro cartoon channel, subsection "you really couldn't make that today": think it was a Harvey Studios, one of their 'tortoise and the hare' shorts from the '50s. Wherein after losing to the turtle again, the hare cartoonishly but unambiguously commits suicide. Pulls a...

Caldwin's latest obsession (subject to change)

I agree, and saw something similar on a "sci-fi for non-sci-fi fans" list once - more or less, "Neuromancer is more prototypical cyberpunk, but it's also kind of a deadly bore."

Mayhems tangled mess of controler cords

More streamer archetypes that I find hard to watch: "Man, I really don't care for how long these battles are..." *playing as defensively and 'cowardly' as possible* *refusing to use consumables or powers*

But, but all our Thoughts And Prayers! Surely that will work in lieu of regulating the industry and - yes - making it more difficult for people to get their hands on massacre-capable weapons instead of less!

Mayhems tangled mess of controler cords

I watch a lot of Let's Plays, it's how I consume most video game stuff. I appreciate that trying to record yourself playing a game and also be entertaining, or streaming which is even more complicated, can be very difficult to juggle. I am but a passive audience member after the fact. That said...

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

Another thread I can dive into here. I also was not a MOTU kid; until relatively recently it was just internet osmosis, Skeletor memes, conversations with a friend a few years older than I am who was a MOTU kid and is still a fan as an adult, and the live-action Dolph Lundgren movie having a...

    Star Trek General Discussion

Huh. New game announced: Just how varied is the gameplay going to be, and how much can you go off the rails from the series, I should wonder. Shame the only possible hint of actual game in this teaser is maybe the way they zoomed in from the exterior to the MSD - XCOM-style Ant Farm facility...
