It's completely unsubstantiated but I wouldn't be surprised.
It may not even be that EarthSpark is failing. If Hasbro has high confidence in TFOne and wants to shift gears to a cartoon in that universe, I don't blame them. It's a good move.
This part doesn't bother me either. There was genuinely zero reason to think he'd be on Tatooine. He'd sorta been there once, but he stayed on a ship the whole time and didn't talk to any locals. It almost doesn't count. If I disappear one day and the CIA tries to track me down, they're not...

This is such an MLP problem.

Especially if you covered it in gold paint I'm certain I don't remember.
Convoy was also one of the easiest designs they could have done. Takara has an opportunity to keep the wow factor going if they can pull off some harder designs.
I do think the price is too high. But to be fair, the R&D costs for this line probably suck. Trying to match the shapes as closely as possible to the original toys is a whole layer of work they don't normally have to do.
I assume they wouldn't want to change the jet mode that much. I wouldn't mind if they took some liberties, especially if they fixed all the weird gaps while they're at it, but that's just not Missing Link's mission.
