    Studio Series discussion

So the next wave of Studio Series got revealed. Looks like all of the MV6 figures were indeed based on concept art from the movie. https://news.tfw2005.com/2023/10/28/mcm-london-reveals-leader-bumblebee-triple-changer-megatron-core-rumble-more-498054 Megatron is a triple changer, with both a...

Big doesn't necessarily mean tall; Big Convoy is bulkier.

    Transformers Legacy toyline

Yeah, remember that those toys first came out in 1999, so they'd be old enough to drink and almost old enough to rent a car at this point.

Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

DWJ has stated he doesn't like the live action movies, so hopefully they'll avoid that little bit of cross continuity inspiration.

I never mentioend grimdark, which is a seperate thing from being edgelordy, though I think we might have different definitions of what being an edgelord is so we may have to agree to disagree here.

You don't need to shoot and disfigure the kid appeal evergreen character to show the Decepticons as bad guys. there's a lot of Ark crew that aren't going to be utilized anytime soon. Shoot Ironhide to homage the '86 film. Shoot a generic. Shoot someone who isn't on such a level that he's 100%...

Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

According to DWJ, Hasbro was pretty on board with blowing Bumblebee's face off because they felt he was played out as well.. which, like.. Just don't use him? You can just not use him! It's not like when they got tired of Windblade they just started treating her like a Cy-kill cameo from the...

On Legacy Nacelle and fungus - a PSA for those who care.

Some old toys would leak plastizier over time, giving them a slimy feeling. Is it possible that this particular plastic is just breaking down somehow? We know Hasbro's quality assurance is down the tubes these days. Because while mold and stuff likes to grow in various places, it kind of...

I mean, not entirely. Look at how much of a celebration of nearly all 40 years of the franchise Legacy United is! G1, Beast Wars, Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo, Beast Machines, Car Robots/RiD2001, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, Animated, Prime, and even Cyberverse. (Plus we've gotten G2, RiD2015...

Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

I think you guys are conflating multiple things. The issue I have with this comic isn't specifically that it's repeating the ark crash; as that's such a minor element in the long rung. It's that the comic, so far, seems completely incurious on including any elements of the franchise that...

Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

Transformers is and likely always will be a story made by humans for the consumption of humans, and as such, will be heavily colored by the human experience. People write what they know, you know, and people know their own lives very well. Nobody is a million year old shapechanging robot, so...

Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

Didn't issue #1 of this comic truncate the millions of years down to hundreds?

Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

The feel like the reason the central conflict of G1 was forgotten is because it felt, to me, to be inspired by the multiple energy crisis(es) in 1970's US. The OPEC embargo stemming from the US supplying arms to Israel during the Israeli/Arab war in the early 70's caused the first one and then...

Are there any Transformers that you started out not likeing but now glad you own?

I didn't care for the Legacy Bulkhead mold when I first saw it given how badly it fell short of evoking Prime Bulkhead, but I really liked the Wrecker cameo paintjob so picked a copy up and while it is still a poor interpretation of Prime Bulkhead, it's a pretty swell figure on it's own.

    Transformers Legacy toyline

GUOP seems fine in a "This is hte only way we'll get a version of this character anytime soon." way. Like if I missed Cybertron, and wanted a version of that character on my shelf, it'd be fine for that. But these days when we're getting stuff like Armada Op, he just feels like a missed...

    Transformers Legacy toyline

I think the Nova Prime toy is pretty neat in robot mode (I have no strong affinity for Cybertron Prime so it doesn't bother me that they look similar) I now understand why people don't like this mold for Ultra Magnus, though.

    Transformers Legacy toyline

Technically Nova Prime was originally Prime Nova in the Marvel comic, though I don't recall him getting a visual apperance, just a namedrop. IDW definitely fleshed the character and created the design we know to this day.
