Honestly, if they had just remembered one basic rule: Godzilla doesn't run from the military, the military runs from Godzilla. Most of the films other quirks can be forgiven, but that, in my opinion, is where they completely missed the mark.

I will die on the hill that '98 Zilla was an excellent remake of Beast From 20,000 Fathoms that was inexplicably (ie name recognition) rewritten to be "Godzilla". The movie does a lot of things right for a kaiju flick, it just isn't a Godzilla movie.

Im not sure, but I feel like the director struggled to figure out how to direct non-humanoid monsters; look at how much screen time Ghidorah spends as Monster X, or how much time is focused on Gigan and Godzilla compared to other kaiju. Of course, Godzilla had been in a decline in general...

They're kind of fun; the truck's wheels roll, the fryer and fountain have little action features, and the restaurant roof comes off and is pretty detailed inside. Unfortunately, many of the McD's we've visited this week are already out of them.
