Thread of Thoughts, Questions (and Maybe Even Answers) That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

Still prefer it a bit to the ROTB design myself. That does some good things in streamlining and cleaning it up but ends up with some elements I don't dig, like the oddly high grandpa waist.

Neither is as good as the 2007.

This whole thing just reeks of being an afterthought that came to them at 4:45 on a Friday. The idea itself is already underwhelming, but the execution of "just put pegholes wherever" doesn't help it. I suppose the excuse is that if all the artifacts are there then these unsightly punch-holes wouldn't be visible, but ehh.

You'd think they'd at least find a way to have the 5mm pegholes or whatever line up and not obscure the symbols or the names. Or even alternate between being above or below the symbols, as the artifacts need. Maybe even change the lineup Primes and alternate between those with small enough artifacts and those whose artifacts need a bit more width.

Guess they really wanted to stick to the birth order of the Thirteen as described in both the Binder and the Covenant book.

I like the center shield piece that you plug the Zodiac into once you actually plug the Zodiac into it, but that's about all the compliments I can give this set.

They could have left out the names entirely and just had that space reserved for holes. This is so haphazardly done that it's baffling it got approved.

I'm really glad we as a subculture have finally reached a point where we can say this without setting off a huge shouting match.

You remember them going quiet? I remember them switching to nonsense arguments about how X movie critic didn't like the movie for normal movie critic reasons pertaining to the plot or such and this proves it's inherently bad for Ratchet to be green.

So... anyone else seeing this on their Legacy Beachcombers? (The thread also mentions Sandstorm.) Something similar to the problem with blast effects being left touching painted plastic too long, or the older ROTF Bludgeon treads thing. Ymmv depending on climate and other conditions I guess.

I've fished Beachcomber and Rukus out of storage and the tires are intact, but they both have silver smudges on them. Either from the rims or from other bots in the bins. Really wish they had just gone with regular hard plastic tires on these.

Things and characters I'd like to see come back in Transformers, in no particular order:
•Smolder and Chopster
•Wildwheel
•Hammerbyte
•Elita-1's pre-Blackarachnia color scheme from Animated, even on a different character
•Targetmasters/Battlemasters as something I can buy separately, either blind-boxed or carded. (I don't need full articulation, just a simple transformation from robot to weapon mode and a variety of colors would suit me just fine)
•Quickshadow
•Thunderblast
•Demolishor and Cyclonus (the Armada dudes)
•Snow Cat (preferably as a GI Joe crossover)
•Cyberjets
•Transmetals (my favorite era of Beast Wars, figure-wise)
•Legends/Legion/Core size class.

I'd like to see more GI Joe vehicles done as their own guys, the way that the other crossover figures are. Transformers and GI Joes are even already in the same universe, most of the time! That way you can get wild with the designs, and not as constrained with colours etc, or having to "match" a Cybertronian and a Joe character.

As satisfied as I am with the existing Joe crossover Transformers, I've gotta say, I would get behind this, even if the vehicles weren't Joe figure-compatible. I've said before, I think Hasbro should lean into Joe and Cobra vehicles for military altmodes; they own the designs, so licensing shouldn't be an issue, and they could do a Transformer version in one color and a Joe version in the traditional colors with suitable cross-branding to maximize mold use.
