I suspect if anyone hasn’t seen the “regular” Optimus Primal by this point? You aren’t going to see it at normal retail. Glad I got him from Amazon when I did as well.

The lack of weapon/accessory set is increasingly baffling to me. The media itself even creates a ready-made justification for blind box accessory crates, something Hasbro could release to hit the $5 price point. Though, maybe the lackluster performance of Battlemasters has put Hasbro off on sub-$10 offerings?

I'm not sure if Cheetor being a snow leopard is something that's been officially said anywhere or just TFW assuming because that's more consistent with his colors than a cheetah...but his name is still Cheetor and his biome is the tropical one.
I really don't get why he's "Cheetor" but not remotely cheetah-colored, especially when the other colors he has instead are so similar to Jazz in the same line.

Going by prior listings from last year…I’m pretty certain that the spring 2026 CyberChanger assortment was planned to have more toys. As is, it was highly unusual for Hasbro to only release ONE new toy in an assortment like this. I strongly suspect that the original plan for Spring 2026 was Primal, Cheetor (probably in more traditional colors), and Lockdown, possibly joined by Jazz. Heck, I don’t we’ve even seen Lockdown, despite his retail listing from last year. From that perspective, the redecos make more sense of “refreshing” existing toys.


Broadly, I’m not a fan of this direction ”Energon Surge” has taken. With the translucent colors set to blue=Autobot, purple=Decepticon, I think it makes the overall line looks…bland, at least at the lower price points. I mean, they could at LEAST throw in some green for the MAximals, and red on some Decepticons to spice things up.

This is the weirdest submarine Hasbro's released. I mean, it doesn't even have a handle, a barrel or a trigger.

Is that what it is? I couldn't tell.

The alt-mode picture where it says how many steps is a submarine.

Though I think it looks more like a mechanical Sharktopus.
(Though not enough tentacles, and more Dunkleosteus than shark.)

Elita-1 is basically IDW Riptide with a different head and paintjob, so honestly I wouldn't be shocked if this was the case.

The front 40% or so of Soundwave's altmode is an accessory.

Oddly enough, none of the new figures are popping up when I search the Walmart app. Waverly is far enough away that I can't justify a trip just on the chance they will still have a Scourge. Gonna have to hunt nearby Walmarts carefully, I guess. Endcap displays wind up in some...interesting locations around here...

I really didn't ever expect mnemosurgery to get referenced in the kids side of media.

Even more wild, that was something specific to IDW Airachnid, and no other version, IIRC.

Shockwave vs Dinobot? Nah, Shockwave IS dinobot!

How is it that we've never had a Dimetrodon Transformer given the name "Dimetrobot" as a play on the name "Dinobot"?

Because then all the people screaming about how a dimetrodon is not a dinosaur would come out of the woodwork protesting that the name is patterned after the Dinobot name.

But then much cooler people could stop them by saying "joke's on you, the name is patterned NOT after the Dinobot name, but... Firebot."
