The original toy also had big chunks of planet shell that just hung off the wings in robot mode, so that's not really a huge departure.

That's just stupid. A mini one could be cool, but this is just competing with the original, which you can still find for sale because it was built to last until the end of time.

I don't know what the Transformer fandom obsession with ratchets is. Unless you or your backpack is Titan-sized, the vast majority figures don't really need it.

I could never be one of them official reviewers or influencers or whatever. My approach to reviewing is shitting on the thing and then if you still want it by the end, it’s probably a good product.
They'll never pick me, because if I like a toy they'll think "Uh oh."

Eh, from a writing perspective (and reading perspective to a degree), using differing synonyms for “transforming” helps keep audiences engaged so you aren’t saying some variation of “transform” every other word.

I’m not saying there aren’t some YouTubers that aren’t doing so to “stay on on Hasbro’s good side”, but I think there IS merit to using other terms when the brand name is “Transformers”.
Nice little score at the FLCS today, rather literally - spotted the S7 camo redeco of Energon Signal Flare on their loose shelves for under a tenner. No accessories, little loose, but still a perfectly serviceable chunky robot man, who can go hang out on my Godzilla shelf as a laser tank. I miss this kind of charm and engineering.
I always wanted that version of the mold. Kind wish they kept the clear parts but it works as a military vehicle better the way he is I guess.
