So I don't know how many have been following this, but over the past few years Mainframe Studios has been painstakingly restoring and remastering the Reboot TV series from the original tapes.

For the past year they have been posting those episodes to Youtube and are up to Episode 6 (In the Belly of the Beast).

As a surprise bonus, they have started releasing re-masters of the War Planets/Shadow Raiders show.

You can find them here:

There was never any mention of shadows or raiders in the show, was there? They really could have picked a different other title. (Unless there is and I just forgot?)

The way to beat the evil planet was already foreshadowed. The short green king guy gave... the fire prince a seed. I'd assume that they would plant it to either destroy the mechanisms of the evil planet or turn it good.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Welp, this is wonderful news. I loved both shadow raiders and reboot. Much obliged for the information.

Ooooh baby. I wasn't into Reboot enough for this to catch my attention, but War Planets? Probably one of my favorite shows of that era, yes please.

I have been deeply following this project for years now. The emergence of War Planets as well is music my ears!

Huh. Now that's some nostalgia I haven't thought about in a few years.

IIRC it fell victim to...Canada's restriction about "you can't say 'war' in the title of a kids' cartoon", just as Beast Wars did.

I only ever knew of War Planets as "War Planets" because that's what all the commercials and marketing told me it was called.

Shadow Raiders mostly seems to have ended production because Trendmasters (makers of War Planets) went under. There was a whole passle of never-released WP toys that were victims of that. (My moribund War Planets website is still sad about this.)

A local collectible shop had some WP toys recently - passed on them at the time to do some research, by the time I got back they were gone, alas.

Oh hey, I heard about this from Linus Tech Tips, who did an episode kind of explaining how much work it took to get these into viewable condition.

Good video! It's been a LOT of lucky breaks that everything is coming together. It's been a good sign that Mainframe has been reposting the episodes, too.

Also, I recommend the Reboot Rewind documentary on YT, if anyone here hasn't seen it. It's a great watch!
