So they make Retro Gears (not pictured) out of Gears and paint a weedy M (W? Wumbo? Wumbology? The study of Wumbo?) outline on the hood... and then make Swerve, who has a sculpted M/W/Wumbo etc on the hood (the entire truck front is nice and different). I mean it's nice to have Swerve be so distinct in altmode as well as robot mode, but it would've been nice to get toy Gears also be distinct from toon Gears. Even in G1 he and Swerve were the same in altmode anyway, with the retooling mainly being in robot mode. At least this exists now if they want to make, say, the other Malignus Pick-Up color schemes...
Bumblebee's not the only Retro release who wound up less cool than he could've been, I guess (although it was nice to get the VW mold again). Another oddity of timing and whatnot. Maybe if they'd waited until now, and done, idk, Retro Huffer up earlier instead.
