It has been reported that prolific pop culture writer, Gerry Conway, has passed away. He was 73. With a carrier stretching back half a century, he is best known for co-creating The Punisher, the seminal “Death of Gwen Stacy” story arc, and the creation of Ms Marvel, Power Girl, Man-Thing, Jason Todd, among numerous other long lasting comic characters.
Outside of comics, he wrote the screenplay for cult fantasy film “Fire and Ice” as well as story foundations for “Conan the Destroyer”. He also sports a significant television career across shows/specials like Perry Mason, Diagnosis: Murder, Law and Order, Father Dowling Mysteries among others. For cartoon fans, he contributed numerous episodes to GI Joe, Transformers, Centurious, My Little Pony, Batman The Animated Series, and penned the pilots for Dino-Riders and Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
