My internet is Dialup slow tonight, yet there's no known outage near me and all my equipment seems to be fine. At least as fine as it ever is.

This sucks. I like when there's at least an identifiable problem somewhere. This is just lonely.

Have you tried turning it off and then on again?

Seriously, though, let your router sit unplugged overnight if a reboot didn't help.

Anyone else feel kind of weird and awkward when you're the only patron in a restaurant or movie theater or something? If you go in at an off hour or something and it's just you. I've coincidentally hit it a couple times recently and it got me thinking.

Liminal spaces are like that. When we used to have overnight shifts at Target around the holidays, that same feeling would kick in sometimes while walking around the dark, quiet store. Even after doing it for a couple of months and getting used to it, every so often it would still hit. There are supposed to be more people here, but there aren't.

Over the winter there are days at the chair lift that we get absolutely nobody over the weekdays Wednesdays especially... since I work the double black diamond lift ( the expert runs) so the club can be fully open and operational and yet I see nobody for 8 hours... and its eerie

I never get to experience truly empty places like that because my brain turns any unidentified shapes in my peripheral vision into creatures.

Due to my job, if an alarm goes off after-hours, I am the first person who gets called in to check on the store. Now, if I see evidence of an actual break-in, I would call the police. But, if everything looks intact externally, then I'm going into a dark, empty store where something set off a motion alarm.
I can sit in an empty theater by myself no problem, but I've seen enough horror movies that an alarm call always creeps me out.

When the boss went into the store before letting us in to start our shift, one person would have to go in with them and wait by the entrance with a walkie talkie while they went around and checked out the building, just in case. It could be surprisingly nerve wracking.

I've seen enough horror movies to know better, but I still can't resist going outside to find out what's making that unidentifiable noise.

Here's a short little gif showing how fast the top of the chairlift can become silent hill.

Yikes. I want to visit Quebec but I'm going to have to wait for global warming to do its thing.

Saw Takara's attempt at Getter Robo. I guess it's about as well as you'd expect considering how impossible it is to get all three configurations out of relatively small toys but it looks terrible. Too much gray and the head's just awful. It's expensive too, and it's not like Getter is exactly lacking in merchandise.
