I had a train phase. I would display this in train mode once in a while.
I think my only noteworthy train robots are Classics Astrotrain and Webdiver Gradion, and the latter's torso being mostly clear plastic full of electronics makes me nervous about transforming him often.
And a couple of Gaogaigars, if Liner Gao counts as anything but upper arms.

I saw SS '86 Astrotrain in person. Passed. The smoke effect in box looks really... untoward
It looks multifunctional to me. A train smoke trail, of course. A smoking gun. A 'blowout' for bots with a compatible spot on the rear, or maybe stuck to the lion/squirrel looking Battlemaster's butt peg to show the raging roids...

The Kingdom one was Commander class. Could be a redeco or retool. But I'd rather a new mold that gets the altmode down.
We'll see, my guess is that its likely to be a minor retool/repaint of the Kingdom figure, if a retool, what I expect to change are: Rodimus's face and maybe some changes to his trailer so that it can close up properly and not have anyoning gap where it refuses to close properly
The Kingdom one was a Commander already.
I'd guess we're going to see a more Sunbow accurate colour scheme and maybe a new head.
I don’t think they can manage an all-in one regardless of intent, unless you want Rodimus about as tall and thicc as Magnus.
I don't really want an all-in-one out of Studio Series. All the little engineering doodads and blast effects can also go. Just give me a proper space Winnebago whose front doesn't have 3/4 of itself protruding out of the trailer.
And whose robot mode has a better face sculpt and an actual waist. But the vehicle, man, that's the first thing that needs fixing.

Just give me the vehicle mode with zero compromises to accommodate a standalone car mode. Hot Rod has his own toys. Leave it alone.
I'm pretty sure that's what's happening here; also so he'll be roughly the same height as Galvatron.
I'm not a huge fan of the taller leaders (I just have too many other characters who are Voyager size and shouldn't be smaller than Prime or Megs) but maybe Kingdom Rodimus will be cheap on ebay after this.
My guess is he'll be given the SS86 Cyclonus treatment in robot mode. How that works with the trailer, I don't have a clue on.
It's weird. Sometimes mine would close up fine. Other times? Not so much. I don't understand why.
And I don't mind -- heck, even like having Rodimus be able to operate independent of his trailer. But maybe they should rework it so his legs form more of a flatbed truck or something, so he can fit in there better? Or just rework the trailer for that. Make the turret telescopic again.
