Justice won.
I’m not sure what to make of it at this point.Part of me is disapointed.
I think it’s either stuff that can fold away to appear identical to the original toy or parts that can be swapped out to permit either mode.
Goes without saying that I'm referring to the sled. It's clearly on the promo image in a configuration not associated with the G1 toy for a reason. There's just no way for that first option to work. The original Ironhide toy is small and spindley and there's just no where on it for anything to fold away or hide.
-ZacWilliam, now the sled has a little more room for that than the robot. I could see it becoming the new body parts like I said, but I don't think it could do that AND be true design wise for the original sled at the same time.
I'd love a missing link Skids at any rate...the design is good...just needs some poseabilityIs it wrong that, upon first seeing this, I initially thought it was Skids?
I was going to make an "is nothing sacred" joke, but... uhhh.. feels a little weaksauce after thatTakara just shot themselves in the foot.
I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by changing how a G1 toy looked. If you change how a G1 toy looked over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Missing Link Ironhide, nor will they purchase any of Takara's Transformers. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Takara has alienated an entire market with this move.
Takara, publicly apologize and cancel Missing Link Ironhide or you can kiss your business goodbye.
You say that as if Japan actually puts Transformers on a cultural pedestal like it does with Astro Boy, Gundam, Dragon Ball, or Kimba the White Lion.Takara just shot themselves in the foot.

i'm referencing a forum post from 2008 that was someone's reaction to FFXIII getting announced for the xbox 360You say that as if Japan actually puts Transformers on a cultural pedestal like it does with Astro Boy, Gundam, Dragon Ball, or Kimba the White Lion.
