Just to get ahead of any misinformation, I've been seeing this circulated:

But this is also incorrect. The brother in question only contacted police two hours after the shooting:

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the (lack of) additional security was intentional, setting up a honeypot trap, in the hopes that someone would try something like this, and they had everything ready to go just in case.

The U.S. national debt crossed 100 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) at the end of March, with signs that it might cross the record of 106 percent of GDP reached immediately after World War II.
The CBO determined that the changes were driven by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed into law last July, as well as higher tariffs and lower immigration rates.
Not sure where this best goes, but Trump's definitely added onto it in a big(ly) way

Not like any politician in either party has ever given a rat's ass about how big the national debt gets because it'll never actually come due.

I read the whole headline (and article; I'm not Paladin). That's why I said "gonna weasel" and not "weaseled".

It's just a delay. It is entirely possible that SCOTUS just decides to completely abandon any pretense of being anything but an impotent body dancing on the strings, but there are a couple that still cling to the hope of legitimacy, despite all.
I'd give him 50/50 odds at this time.

Un-f*cking-real.

We are so beyond illegal with this and the claim that Trump and his family can never be audited or criminally charged.
Any defense of this shows someone is off their rocker or a paid shill.

And all that will happen are a series of performative hearings where outrage is feigned yet nothing is done.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Hey remember when y'all said he wasn't even going to bother pardoning the Jan. 6 people because he doesn't reward loyalty?

It's still true that he doesn't reward loyalty. But he does incentivize it. This is an upfront payment for future services, mark my words. This is him saying "Hey I can count on you to come back for a second round in 2029, right?"

He waited until his approval ratings tanked from all of his latest idiocy. He didn't care about them until he decided he could maybe use another mob of disposable morons. This is a bribe to them and a threat to everyone else.

Assuming another pile of them don't end up getting re-arrested for something else anyway, of course.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

More and more of them end up behind bars every week, for crimes trump cannot pardon them for. They're also already suing over the slush fund, and it's not like he wasn't going to embezzle all of it anyway. The whole Shtick is that the fund was for "victims of lawfare" and trump considers himself the biggest victim of said lawfare.

Functionally, this is an attempt to work around the concept that congress holds the purse, and it more than likely will not work, but trump needs to set the precedent before the midterms.
