And anyway he's already building the damn ballroom, so he's not even getting anything out of this. If he were trying to use this as pretense to have more of his critics put on watch lists or worse, that would be sus (on top of being bad for the obvious reasons). As it is, we're not any worse off now than yesterday.

Realistically: it doesn't matter if it was staged or genuine. Trump is using this to try to control the narrative, and that's what's important.

secret service, apparently. One dude got hit in the bullet proof vest and went to hospital... allegedly.

Edit: and allegedly is apparently the right word: the story is changing as we speak.

Hey... They managed to take the shooter alive and seemingly unharmed.

But if he had shot at SS like is being reported, even without landing the hit: they would have shot him dead. So did he shoot or not?

CBS is reporting that there were 5 shots fired by officers, all possibly from one officer's gun, and they're being a bit evasive about whose bullet hit the officer... smells to me like it was a case of friendly fire but they don't want to admit it.

At the rate this story is devolving, by this time tomorrow we're liable to find out that there never even was a shooter and the whole story was fabricated.
