That is certainly a sculpt that Cyclonus has on his face, I will give it that. I still don't like it better than the version that I have though, and I would say it's kind of a lateral move. Funny to see Blitzwing with his Hulk Hands again, just like that classic scene in the movie.

Really? I think that milk jug looking one they originally did is one of the worst facesculpts they’ve ever done in the entire 40 years of the franchise.

The new one is 1000x better.

Well, it's just like, my opinion, man. I'm not saying that the first pass was the greatest headsculpt to ever grace the franchise. It's just that I don't much care for the new one, and I don't like it any better than the first pass.

Edit: @Sabrblade, there are pics up on TFW2005. They are supposedly upcoming stock SS86 images from a site called Gamerant.com.

I'm seriously becoming worn out by all of the "re-doing G1 characters that have been done perfectly well, recently" crap. I say that as an unapologetic, lifelong G1 fan. So please wake me up when Studio Series does something interesting.

I agree with this sentiment in principle, but with one caveat: I like to collect characters with a shared body type. The Seekers and the Datsun Bros are the best examples of this, but there are plenty of others. In this case, I really want to see a Glyph and TapOut from the Bee/Cliff mold, but I don't want them to be a drastically different mold from my Bee and Cliff. So I will probably also pick up Cliffjumper (already got Bee when they went on super clearance, and Bumper from the Target 4-pack) in the hopes that a matching Glyph and TapOut are in the works.

Since he keeps using the Ukranian fan-colored models, here are the correctly colored animation models for Cliffjumper, Cyclonus, and Blitzwing for proper comparisons:

yeah, I’ll probably go for that Cyclonus. Kinda wish it were more bluish though. It looks close to Kingdom’s lavender.

I’ll probably get Cliffjumper, being the minibot whore that I am.

Cyclonus is “better” than the original (I should check for yellowing on mine, I guess), but not so much that I would consider replacing mine…especially since I rock the Targetmaster/Toy Flavor one as primary anyway. Certainly not at 2026 Voyager prices.

Blitzwing is another lateral move. I think the brighter colors look better…but it’s still the same mold as previously released and it’s not different enough, to me, to warrant a double dip.

Of note, the comparison picture is of Dramatic Capture Blitzwing and not the Hasbro Legacy version which is more noticeably different.

I'm the opposite; I like characters with similar bodies to have different molds to distinguish them. Then I don't feel like I'm a mug for buying any updated molds of the "same" (bumblebee/seeker/etc) mold.

[Edit: Really (why do they keep sculpting his face so wide)] liking the new headsculpt, but currently leaning toward a pass or at least waiting on it a while. Currently it looks too similar to the Kingdom colors. That release is on the to-sell block anyway though, so I might have room for this replacement. But at current prices, with the current flood of things to get and catch up on? IDK if it even can be a priority.

However, colors have appeared different in different photos to me before (took forever before I encountered comparison photos that really showed the gulf between Earthrise and Dramatic Capture Thundercracker's colors), so maybe this would look more distinct under different lighting? I can only hope.

I lean toward getting the new Cyclonus. I'd probably pass, but after having two versions of previous Cyclonuses (Universe & CaC, CW & UW), I like the idea of having another version so I can have a distinct Armada. I like the new head. The face is better, but it's the ears that really make it a big improvement for me. I'm also curious about the new legs. I really hope this one has solid knees.

The other two are easy passes. I much prefer the Earthrise mold over SS86 for Bee, CJ, and all their fellows. I'd be happy for Bumper to be me only copy of the SS86 mold, and him only as a head donor. As for Blitzwing, I still haven't fully decided if I want to keep Legacy or DC out on the shelf, but this one adds absolutely nothing interesting into that mix.
