I wanted (but never got) the Hot Wheels Battle Ram from MotU.

At least I got the Turtle Van and Mario Bros. Plumbing van.

Some Joe news, so that Star Wars and MOTU don't garner all the attention in fans' minds:
Legacy Collection Action Soldier (Special Forces) is now available for preorder from all the usual places.

Hasbro has also sent out preview renders for the next wave of Retro Cards, featuring Wild Bill, TechnoViper, and Grunt. Remember, these are not "repacks", they are redesigned takes intended to evoke the original figures instead of "reimagined" Classified style. In addition, Hasbro officially revealed Iron Grenadier Destro with his Despoiler

I'm left a bit cold by the Retro Wave. TechnoViper isn't a drastic change from his, still available and affordable, Classified release, and Grunt just loses all his uniqueness. But I'm VERY excited for IG Destro.

Pre-orders? I stopped at my local Wal-Mart today and they had a half-dozen of the Action Soldier on the shelf. If it wasn't for the price I would have picked up a couple to partner with Hit and Run.

In fairness, it’s been clear for a while that Hasbro has largely been giving priority to physical retailers when it comes to inventory. Though, “preorder” is really a technicality since BBTS has him arriving in “Early April”, while appearing in stock at Entertainment Earth.

Hasbro's got a live stream happening today, in addition to preorders going up for the next Retro Wave. Something I didn't notice, but greatly appreciate, is that with recent waves of Retro, the 86+ year figures are now sporting the proper digital explosion back instead of the generic pre-86 version (that Beachhead got).

Some deets:
Retro Wave is mass retail, but the Renegades 2 pack and Despoiler are "Fanazon" exclusives (Amazon+online specialty)
They officially revealed the Ramp Rats, a ground crew supplemental item for the Rattler.

Teasing YoJoe June, some name teases: Toxo-Viper (v1), Psyche Out (V2 image used for reference, said to be a retailer exclusive), some more love to DDP with Mistress Armada getting a figure this year, and a new, "very rugged", version of Duke (no image).

The render reveal was for T'Jbang and Ninja Force Scarlett 2 pack.

The final tease was of a Cobra tiara of sorts. I recognize it...but I just can't place it. I'm pretty sure something from the cartoon?

Figures the ONE time I actually find one of the Target special team ReAction+ exclusives on shelf...it's a character I have ZERO interest in. Thanks to the toy sale, I was able to get ReAction+ Cobra Commander (cape) and Tiger Force Snake Eyes for just under $40 for the pair (between Target's $5 coupon and 19.99 retail price). But again, Snake Eyes (Tiger Force or not) is pretty darn low on my want list. Which is probably why I found him...

SE's cardback did tease a Wild Bill redeco coming. Seems to integrate ideas from his unproduced 1988 deco and some fresh flair (I kind of dig the red holster).

Thanks 😅
I'm actually at a dangerous impasse. My GI Joe fandom is pretty casual compared to Tranformers or comic book stuff. I have my faves, and that's as deep as it goes, and that's more or less completed in toy form. I have the Joes here, and also Cobra Commander, some Crimson Guards, and some Vipers. So do I stop here at the stuff I like? Or do I go... deeper? And everyone here knows what THAT looks like 😛

Part of the appeal is how much stuff you get. Hasbro has to pay Disney out the a** for the Marvel and Star Wars licences, but GI Joe Classified shows what they can do for an action figure at a retail price point without part of the cost being eaten up by a licensing fee.

Classified is not really my thing (I'm a 3-3/4" o-ring kid, but i do make exceptions for Battle Android Troopers), but that is a nice lineup of Joes and an impressive army of Cobras!

Danke!
I have a weird relationship with GI Joe. I was really into it for a few years when I first got into Transformers, but I didn't stick with it like I did with the robots. I kind of cycled in and out of periodic bouts of fandom, collecting a few figures here and there. In fact I originally skipped Classified entirely because I was in one of my periods of disinterest. I've since picked up a few though, and I'm really enjoying them. I still don't have the love for the franchise to justify going much deeper then I've gone, but I'm very happy with what I have. They make for two nice displays. I may consider a Snake Eyes, Destro, Major Bludd, and Baroness before calling it a day.
