He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

The OG modern MOTU Origins Crossover is returning! Mattel showed off a new line of Masters of the WWE Universe during a WWE Event in the run up to Wrestlemania 42. In addition to Cody Rhodes (BA He-Man), hWo Hogan (complimenting the prior hWo Macho Man), Shawn Michaels (Bow), Bray Wyatt (Prince Adam) and Fright Zone ring; they previewed the tag team Demolition (Not sure, not THAT big a wrestling fan) and the figure pack in for the Fright Zone being Outsiders Kevin Nash and Scott Hall which combine into TwoBad.

Some of this looks fairly early, so they might be late fall or early next year releases.

Happy to see MOTWWEU returning, but perhaps that original creative spark isn't present.

Cody as another He-Man, not incorporating "The American Nightmare" in any way (a USA-colored Scareglow?)

Shawn Michaels doesn't work because (outside his time in The Rockers tag-team) the color blue wasn't his signature color, white is (first career run, pre WM 15). Plus "Heroic Heartbreak Kid". In his second career run yes. In the era they're calling back to the character (and especially the man himself) was an absolute ass. I can understand them using Bow. Parts are avaioable, heart themed--->Heartbreak Kid, but I feel Rio-Blast would have fit better.

They're going to cross Spikor with Demolition, and NOT The Road Warriors/Legion of Doom?!

Hope the comic pages return. And we get reissues of some figure from the original run. And we get some obvious mash-up: King Booker (Booker T also as Cyclone) , Man-E-Faces of Foley, Peek-a-Blue Charlotte Flair, Mek-a-Neck Kurt Angle, Webstor Tajiri, Mr WonDARful, Vypor Randy Orton.....

What stores have carried the MotUWWE figures? I never saw them at any Target or Walmart around here during their original run. I have no interest in Wrestling but would have considered some of them for MotU parts.

-ZacWilliam, I saw the Greyskull Wrestling ring once at a Walmart but never any of the figures anywhere.

I mean... Bray Wyatt as Prince Adam.

I also see The Rock in there, but I can't quite tell who he's supposed to be. It looks like prototype colors, and I can't quite make out the distinguishing parts of the weapon.

But never mind all that. Here's the real attraction!

Walmart was the exclusive carrier of the line in its original run. Which obviously meant dealing with Walmart’s…spotty…distribution among its own stores. My local store only carried the line for a season before the final waves hit. The last couple waves did see some online distribution, but that seemed more like an overstock situation than anything else.

Aside from the gloriously 80s Macho Man and Mr T (neither of which I ever saw, nor wanted anywhere NEAR enough for second hand market prices), my focus was always on “complimenting” my MOTU Origins stuff. Stephanie McMahon works great as a “skull witch”, with guys like Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Undertaker, Ricky Steamboat being just “out there” enough to function in MOTU. Rather than “wrestler in MOTU cosplay” which a number of others fall into. The Demolition trio previewed would work GREAT as all purpose “barbarian goons” to fill out a villain display.

Wait... I haven't seen this one.

Did they make one of the towers a drink cup while the main portion holds popcorn?

That's brilliant. I want that more than any of the others (except maybe the Power Sword drink cup).

Okay, I was just about to post the ones I did see, and somehow this one flew under my radar, likely due to how stupid YouTube does shorts...

I like them all, this popcorn bucket craze is wild to me, but the Grayskull one wins me over on pure practicality. If it has a place to store some sweets as well, I'm completely sold.

Has anyone seen the epic popcorn buckets that this film is getting?
Yes, and I’m delighted to see the insanity. I’ve already told co-workers to keep an eye out for the Grayskull one for me. BattleCat even looks large enough to work with a 12” figure if Mattel were doing them for this film.

As impressive as the throne room one is? And don’t get me wrong, it’s DAMNED impressive. That one just felt like a step into pure hubris, and it really doesn’t seem anywhere NEAR as practical as the other offerings.

More details for Masters of the WWE Universe (MotWU?), the line will once again be a Walmart exclusive offering. That said, I feel Walmart’s…accessibility… via online HAS improved in the years since the last run. But I still expect in store bullshittery, as Walmart is known to do.

Box art's a little weird, seeing as they're friends and all.

Hey, look! It's Roboto's action figure!

Looking at Mattel Creations' listings, it looks like Core Trap Jaw and Roboto are in the same deluxe assortment as the previously seen gimmick He-Man and Skeletor figures. This indicates, to me, that Mattel is likely shipping two waves concurrently, much like the Core basic figures. We'll know for sure this weekend when the line is officially launched and online retailers start to put out their listings.

Also, Mattel Creations is having a "Buy One, get one half off" sale going for most of the in stock MOTU items on their shop, including fairly new Origins releases and a number of Creations exclusives.

Sony Pictures is handling international distribution for Masters of the Universe and released an international trailer for it. Largely similar to the existing trailers, it does feature a bit more of Adam on Earth and a few remixed sequences.

Was debating between getting the 200x Origins He-Man and Skeletor, or the 200x Cartoon Collections ones. Which are a better option?
