I'm really hoping that the Barricade is a re-release (or slight variation) of the Galactic Odyssey one. I skipped it because I already had Punch/Counterpunch and I foolishly assumed that a single release would be coming soon. I got the Cybertronian Prowl repaint, but I would really prefer the earth mode.

I got even odds on that or a retool from Prime Smokescreen.

I feel confident Rook is the Windcharger mold with toy details in grey.

Among the myriad of info dumped by JtPrime for Studio Series, he DID confirm that "Megatron Rising Resistence" is apparently a capsule initiative (2 deluxe, 3 Voyager, 1 Leader, 1 Multipack), coming to Walmart, with heavy Autobot presence.

Unless Walmart ditches it halfway through like they seem to have done with the Cybertron capsule.

Next theme will be Age of...something...something...
(Of the 7 figures he knows about, SIX are Decepticons...)

He said those listings will drop tomorrow.

The new line is Decepticon heavy. 6 of the 7 figures in wave 1 are Decepticons.

It's Age of _________ for the new line.

"Megatron Rising: Resistance" Is the name of the Walmart capsule and is mostly Autobots.

Edit: I think Jt dropped the name of it when he described the "plot" awhile ago.

Like, the reissues of Siege Prowl, Legacy Beachcomber, etc...
they're all in their original packaging. Some of them with the old release dates on the legal. Making me think a lot of these reissues are just Hasbro finding old stock in the back of a warehouse somewhere.
It's cheaper to just run off the existing packaging than paying a designer to update it to whatever line is happening at the time.

It doesn't seem likely Hasbro is going to have such specific inventory lying around; they'd have a bunch of Siege or Earthrise figures, not just lots and lots of one or two. (Plus they wouldn't sit on inventory for that many years. Sitting inventory costs money.)

Just ask yourself what's more likely, Hasbo had these very specific figures lying around en mass; or Hasbro is running off a bunch of cheap reprints because holy hell look at that economy?

One reason I think it's found old stock is because some of the choices are a bit random. Like... ok... Legacy Beachcomber was a sought after piece that was hard to find the first time, so that does make sense for a second reprinting. But.... Siege Prowl? ER Trailbreaker? Really? That randomness between "this makes sense" and "... why?" just seems to lend credence to it being found stock.

Yeah, sitting on inventory costs money, which is why stockholders have been pressing the board on clearing out inventory. And it's around the time they started bringing this up that we started getting these "reissues."

Correlation is not causation, but the timing does beg the question.

We also don’t know for sure if Hasbro will cycle in any PR figures either. That’s been a pretty common practice and it wouldn’t surprise me if Hasbro slipped another Autobot into that first wave. Given the G2 Megatron, they could probably get away with refreshing the G1 Optimus Prime they did in United.

I’m curious about Slipstream. Depending on how her figure is cut, she might end up a “pretool” for Animated Starscream. Or Windblade. Hopefully, she turns out better than her United release.

The capsule line may be interesting. Some are obvious, but we’ve seen Hasbro/Tomy manage to budget out all new figures from “retooling” budget limitations. Nor would it be the first time that a capsule line drop new molds on us. SkyFire probably has the highest potential in being fun, depending the direction (Dare I hope a Energon Skyblast homage?). Leader Snarl? That’s a curious choice. And it’s not clear WHICH Snarl either: will it be a retool of Slag into a pseudo Animated Snarl to compliment the other Animated entries? Or will be a recolor of Snarl/Snarl in an Action Master inspired deco? A comic inspired deco?
My instinct says Scoop is a Scrapper retool…but he could also be a new tool planned for a Rescue Bots Boulder in the future. Slash feels likely to be a Dinobot retool…unless, again, it’s a new tooling with another planned use down the line.

Also, curse Hasbro for Selects Tidal Wave. I managed to stay way from the first, but that Energon deco was pretty damn sharp. They might get me here unless they botch the colors.

I feel like Siege Prowl probably would have been Earthrise Prowl had ER Prowl not been part of a 2-pack. (Again, see my point about it's cheaper to run off existing packaging than to design new ones).

But honestly that's just speculation. Going off what we've actually seen, it's not like there hasn't been a history of 'Why is this figure being released again?' all over the map with the product refreshes. How many times have we seen a known shelfwarmer pop up out of the blue in a new wave? They aren't shucking exisiting toys and putting them into new packaging, so either Hasbro has access to data and information (or has other reeasons like maintaining trademarks) than we don't which they are making these decisions with, or they're just pulling these decisions out of their butts.

Ultimately, the question of "why have this random figure in their inventory in enough quantities to make it a viable to ship nationwide" seems like a stranger one, to me at least, than "why did they decide to rerun this specific figure." Though I guess etiher way indicates Hasbro was thinking of something we're not. (Whether they were correct is another thing entirely)
