Not getting Energon Ultra Magnus is a regret. I got look about once a year on eBay for him and just cant pull the trigger.

You aren't missing much, robot mode is pretty much a brick, the Minicon robot mode is a bit better but his main job is to tow the torso around, while the rest best mode is to be a massive pair of cannons for Optimus, I don't recall Optimus actually using the cannons in battle, sure he had them on at one point but he never used them as weapons, it was treated as a after thought unlike Omega before and the combined forms that came later for Optimus, after Cybertron we stopped getting serious combined forms of Op, the ROTF wasn't exactly a cool transformation as Jetfire died for it and then it was just trailers that combined with OP

Nate Purswell, Transformers Brand Marketing Manager, has made a post on social media confirming a reissue of Armada Optimus Prime is on deck.

Oh I know what it is, Ive got Overload. Just the color pattern on it. I also didnt realize how hard he was going to be to find and I was focused on Scorponok at the time. I was calling TRU stores up to 125 miles away trying to find him, never thought to ask for Magnus.

Does anyone else think the combined gun looks stupid?

Combining parts to make guns gets weird sometimes . . .

I feel that they've put more effort, etc into updating Micron Densetsu than Car Robots recently.

Weren't most of the headliners in Car Robots licensed vehicles? (At least on the Autobot side - but Magnus may have stretched the Mercedes-Benz thing a little bit.) There was Side-Burn/Speedbreaker recently, but not a viper, and Velocitron Clampdown was a little like Prowl/Mach Alert minus the big arm thing, but it seems like if they were really going to dig into these, they'd have to pay licensing or do the "close but plausibly deniable" thing like they did with Kingdom and Earthrise.

(almost forgot about the Haslab Omega Prime thing, too.)

I was hoping they'd do a Skids recolor into X-Brawn or WIldride, though. That would've been fun.

Nah as far as main toys went, Sideburn was the only one that was licensed but even then it wasn't originally licensed to begin with, only the red redeco was in the Hasbro line (as far as RID01 goes, later uses were also licensed as well).

Takara made the toys based on realistic car models, but did so without any licensing. Hasbro then released them without any licensing at first, but because Dodge made a fuss about Side Burn, the red redeco had to get Dodge's license for release in Hasbro's markets. Meanwhile, X-Brawn had had his rear taillights removed and his front headlights resculpted to not resemble the real car's headlights in order to skirt around any licensing issues, while Prowl I guess just didn't need any licensing at all for either of his Hasbro releases.

You should get him, he is a good figure, sure it doesn't have the electics that the original did but the Super Mode is able to do more than the original as the original Super mode is much like PMOP but worse, just a brick with some arm movements!
It would be a more compelling argument if I had Armada Prime already...

As it is, $125 is a bit steep for me at the moment. If things look better in November, though...

1/ I wouldn't have minded a "close enough" approach but the recent Sideburn was awful, IMO.

2/ Fire Convoy was too expensive, too exclusive and seemingly riddled with QC issues for me.

3/ I can't recall any other Car Robots figures, except for Gelshark (who WAS much better, in some ways, than his previous incarnations, IMO).

Just throwing out this caveat as listings start to leak for the follow up for Age of the Primes (see the appropriate thread for that):
Just as with United Wave 5 (and Leader wave 4), these tail end repaint/retool waves are apt to see spotty distribution. If there are any figures that you feel necessary to have, I would STRONGLY suggest preordering. I know that, locally, I only saw the deluxes and Leaders briefly (like, one case and done) and never saw the Voyager repacks at all.

The next Age of Generations is seemingly on deck for next spring, that is NOT a lot of time for distribution unless the wave is aggressively rolled out before Christmas.

That's why I've been a bit annoyed with Swindle. His preorder still isn't out. Products unannounced at the time he was revealed have beat him to shipping. I am totally confused.
