. . . looked at pictures of the original Armada Jetfire and realized mine has been mis-transformed for an embarrassingly long time . . .

. . . it isn't the only time this has happened . . .

So yeah, if this whole teaching thing I've been doing for a while doesn't turn out, maybe I can get a stock photography job for a major toy company.

My dream jobs when I finally can't take the children any longer are "Hasbro Toy Photographer" or "Nike Sports Uniform Copywriter."

Because good G-d the nonsense those Nike folks spew is impressive and I want in on that.

I love Armada Jetfire. He was an influence on one of the characters in my fiction, including the voice.

And I've got the original.

I don't have the new Armada Prime, though, and I'm... interested in this, but kind of wary. I want to see if the nose of the shuttle opens for robot mode, among other things.

Here's some cold water from mopey mick here:

So a Ultra/Gigacon from 2003 is now a commander with the electronics gutted and no Cometor.

Pretty much, with the three Minicons that make up the requim blaster, otherwise he a over priced leader figure

You should get him, he is a good figure, sure it doesn't have the electics that the original did but the Super Mode is able to do more than the original as the original Super mode is much like PMOP but worse, just a brick with some arm movements!

Silly me, I forgot the space team were only included with a store exclusive. I remember a repaint set with Energon Ultra Magnus too.

I'm holding out for a Powerlinx repaint. I don't have any nostalgia for the Armada era, so I didn't really need Armada Optimus, but the toy itself DOES look good/fun, and the Powerlinx colors are both fantastic and different enough from standard Optimus Primes that I could repurpose it as a new character.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Plus, no electronics means no haunted pants!

Looks very nice! And some interesting stuff going on there. I would never have expected Jetfire's legs to extend for pants mode. Looks like it really helps with proportions for both Jetfire and Optimus.
