Nothing could be funnier than executives pushing AI to replace us costly workers, only for the AI to immediately conclude that it will be way more effective to replace the executives.

rewatched "Grandma's Boy" last night with the missus. Really funny how JP grew up to be Zuckerberg.

Naturally, if I were running an AI company, the obvious evil-genius move would be to make an "AI detector" that purposely doesn't work, to further muddy the waters and cement the idea that AI output is indistinguishable from human.

I've been "busted" multiple times by AI detectors saying things I wrote for class are fully AI generated. It cost me time and serious effort with the teachers to convince them their tool is complete bullshit.

This stuff is going to kill us one way or another. Have fun while you can.

The one that comes up when you press that stupid key has stayed uninstalled since I uninstalled it, at least.
(Only reason having it sit there unused was even bothering me was because of that stupid key...)

Had a meeting with my financial advisor yesterday, and I expressed concern about how much of my mutual fund is tied up in stocks, particularly tech stocks, because of the AI bubble. He pointed out that one big difference between this bubble and the dot-com bubble of the late '90s is that, back then, you had pretty much nothing but startups funded by debt that never turned a profit, so even if you had a diversified portfolio you were left with maybe one or two companies that hadn't gone completely bankrupt by the end. Whereas this time around, most of the big players are established companies with other revenue streams that aren't going anywhere any time soon.

So the bad news is that Bill Gates is probably not going to lose his shirt. But the good news is, neither am I.
