New review of a currently selling G1 KO.
This is another one that doesn't really fall into Knock-Off TRANSFORMERS territory, but wasn't sure where else to put it. It's modern, so it doesn't really belong in the "vintage other robot" thread.
It's an undersized KO of Miniforce Dino Emperor. Roughly 2/3 or so of the original size. I'm a sucker for robot dinosaurs, so when I saw this cheap, I grabbed one.
As you can see, even at 2/3 scale, he's a big boy. Roughly small Titan scale (about the same size as Star Optimus). Material, details, and articulation are all great. Definitely feels every bit as good as an authentic Transformers release.
As far as I can tell without having the original full-size version, only one bit is simplified for this smaller KO. On the original, the brachiosaur neck telescopes out a bit to make it longer where this one is locked in place. But all the dinosaurs have very impressive amounts of articulation including opening/closing mouths.
No individual robot modes for the dinosaurs, more a Power Rangers type of thing than a Transformers combiner. In fact, I was showing him to my teenage son and said "its a guy made out of dinosaurs."
"That's dumb." my son replied. "That's not how dinosaurs OR guys work."
I have to admit, he had me there.

Clearly, you've been let down by the education system. This calls for an immediate binge-watch of Voltron and MMPR!
In his defense, had I made a point of the fact that it was a ROBOT guy made out of ROBOT dinosaurs, then there's no question as to the statement's validity. Buy from a purely biological standpoint, most guys are not, in fact, made out of dinosaurs.
I dunno, I'm pretty sure some of our politicians are from the Cretaceous era at least.
Yes, but they are composed of a type of slime mold, I believe. Nothing as advanced as a dinosaur.
Some kind of invertebrate, anyway.
I think Miniforce sells their bots in two size classes; large and small. Perhaps this is still a smaller, official version? Anyway, this still seems the 'right' place to post this, IMO. Some sites even use the KO threads to post about official Miniforce and that line with the cards (the recent one that is hard to get outside Korea).
That is definitely possible! I didn't do much in the way of research on the subject, basically just ran across them on Aliexpress (which I am just now starting to use).

Update: - There seem to be one of two upgrade packs that are sold alongside the main robot, so it's available with just the core Optimus rifle or ones/two versions with the accessory packs (for a higher price).
Apparently, you can buy them here but it's in Chinese and it needs registration/an app download to even see the listing, which is a red flag for me.
UPDATE (17/04/26) TFDirect has the purple/orange "Impactor" version for sale here and the blue/white/blue "Ultra Magnus" version here.

So MPG Style Gen Prime is being KO'd.
Changes include lights and sounds, and they made the shoulder extensions foldable. No word on price.
