Video Games Hasbro To Release New Smash Bros Style Game, Hasbro's Main Event

In a recent move, Hasbro's new VP of Digital Play, David Burke, has announced that Hasbro will be bringing its classic IPs together in a new way. Hasbro has always strived to unlock the value from its IPs, including MAGIC: THE GATHERING, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, MONOPOLY, POWER RANGERS, HASBRO GAMES, NERF, TRANSFORMERS, PLAY-DOH and PEPPA PIG, as well as premier partner brands. Now Hasbro can do that with its newest game development called, "Hasbro Main Event". Battle classic IPs together like classic GI JOE characters against your favorite Power Ranger, or Fight a giant monster in Angel Grove as Metroplex. Hundreds of unlockable characters can now do battle in a Smash Bros style combat game that will release for all platforms this quarter.

"We know that people have been cross playing with our brands toys for years now. GI JOEs battling Transformers, Transformers battling Power Rangers. Now you can do that digitally in one of the best games coming out this fall. Now your favorite characters can now do battle in dozens of stages from numerous franchises."

"We are excited to bring this epic video game to the fans this holiday season." said David Burke, "and we look forward to seeing how long it takes for someone to unlock all 1000 characters in the game. "

Hasbro's Main Event will be released FY 2027 for the Nintendo Switch, Sony Playstation, and Microsoft Xbox.

Man, I can't WAIT for Mimi from Duel Masters to throw down with Mr Pennybags from Monopoly!

Just imagine a stage themed around Clue! Or Bop It! Or a "Nerf or Nothin'" mode where the only weapons that spawn on stage are various Nerf guns!

Do you think we could get any guest characters? I'm pulling for Bravenwolf from Tenkai Knights, myself!

Although, I'll admit, I don't recognize the Angel character on the box. Is that someone I should know for D&D or Magic the Gathering? It doesn't look like Aurelia or anyone I immediately recognize.

Dang, didn't even realize it until I clicked the link hoping for an article to share. Far too believable, well done.

(In retrospect, the armed-to-the-spuds Mr. Potato Head should've been the giveaway, but these days...)
You just wait! I am sure that now we will have a Mr Potato Head X Transformers crossover with him armed just like that within the next two years!

Now this is a neat April Fool's joke. Despite the box art obviously being AI generated (especially with the battle damaged Green Ranger and Mr. Potato Head, which makes me shocked the spud can even bleed), this sounds like a neat concept for Hasbro to try to make a quick buck off Nintendo with its own Smash Bros. clone like how Nickelodeon did.

But Peppa Pig? Her chances of being a playable fighter in a possible Hasbro Smash clone is about as slim as Dora the Explorer being a a playable fighter in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 3 if it ever happened (unless it's the teenage Dora from those live-action movies).

Stepwise

...even Team Whirl.

Never saw Dora, live action or cartoon. I still remember one line from her movie trailer, though, when someone said "uh, guys? Dora's got a knife." Laughed out loud the first time I saw it.

(So maybe she'd have a fighting chance?)

Yeah, that is the version of Dora that is more fitted for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

But win you lose as Mrs. rabbit, you could get the classic, "Mrs. rabbit has fainted" line!

Originally, I thought that he should be using a lot of NERF guns, but they make more sense being items you use in the game.
