This is why it's imperative the Dems take back the Senate if at all possible(still a long shot, but now within the realm of possibility). Trump will be forced to pick more moderate cabinet members when he inevitably fires existing ones either as scapegoats or because they didn't do things that he liked.

Except he won't. He'll just appoint more "acting heads" like he did in first mandate. If he can't abuse the system, he'll just not participate. It'll definitely slow things down for trump since there won't be his people in places to support him, but it won't suddenly make him play nice.

Oh, no, he won't play nice, but at this point in the game the goal is to slow him down and make him impotent. Basically keep him from drilling new holes in the boat. We can start firing up the bilge pumps and plugging the holes once he's gone.

She's still going to be working with the regime, and given how often and prolifically she lied: she's still incentivized to keep trump in a position of power. She still needs trump to pardon her, and trump doesn't have power over her and protection unless that pardon is at the very last second.
